Going for it

The Jaguars new OC has designed a new play book to go for it. I thought some of you might enjoy what are competion is doing since it's what many have wanted out of our team's OC. Perhaps we should have replaced Palmer. There is a great deal of information out there as to what our opponents are doing or planned changes they are making, but nothing from us. I still say we have a big problem and are making very little progress. I think Johnson and others that we have drafted have excellent potential and will see the light of day if they are on the defensive side of the ball. Forget it on offense, however.

I think our coaching staff are is disarray and we are headed nowhere. Could my views change, most certainly. I need some positive input and I have yet to see anything inspiring out of our organization. Its always the same old platitudes. Read on Parcels and what he has been doing. Again, I don't like him, but he does know what he is doing. What are we doing to fix the O-line? Based on McLain of course we have another running back. That makes sense, because that fits Dom like a T. We need a better runner, not a better line. We have to control the ball and we will get better. Yes, there are truths in those words and its fits Dom's narrow tunnel vision view of how the game is to be played regardless of the personnel you have. The man is incapable of changing to the capabilities of his players. I don't believe the man can adapt his game to fit his players. That's tragic, because he is a very intelligent man. However, he is very inflexible. Parcells is inflexible when dealing with players, but not his game plan. The great coaches are always looking at what they might be doing wrong and fix what they think they are over looking. They know what their players can and can not do. Its impossible to fit a square peg into a round hole without damaging it.

just because the Jags are going to a verticle game doesn't mean they will execute it.. I mean heck Tice said a few years ago that they are going to Moss such and such percent of the time...well we see were that got the Vikes

We have been trying to do the verticle game too,but haven't gotten to execute it.

you want to see a team in disarray.. go www.clevelandbrowns.com

Ibar you are kinda funny with your gloom and doom. The Jaguars are going to more of an offense like ours with more vertical passing.

I'm not a Palmer fan as I'm sure people have noticed. lol But, I will give the whole organization a chance to show us on the field with the performance of the team this year. I'm hoping Palmer can prove me wrong about his schemes. As for Dom C. I thought he looked lost at times standing on the sidelines with his mouth hanging open this past year. I am a diehard Texan fan and will be supporting our team regardless this year during the wins as well as the losses.

BLONDE IN THE FORUM

What is a vertical game? I can make jokes all day about horizontal games, but am lost on the football version of a vertical game.
Someone please enlighten me.....

It's a deep pass, strech the defense type of offense. More deep routs rather than short ones.

Most teams that run vertical offenses tend to commit more to the run and go deep when the Safeties creep up to stop the run. The Texans like to stretch the field with speed and make teams defend more territory with the same amount of defenders.

The wco or West Coast Offense is more of a finesse offense that is centered on the pass and uses a lot of short throws to the WR, FB, TE and the running back keeping defenses from keying on one guy or a couple of guys.

Would that make the Jags offense as offensive as ours? Or, perhaps, more offensive? Much to ponder upon. I sure do read a lot of HUGE leaps of logic on here. Wild swings of opinion abound with voracity. I love it!!!!

He's making up for the 2003 season (The Texans 2nd) when he predicted us to go to the superbowl.
