Glenn Earl

Hopefully, I am not the only one who has noticed the play of Glenn Earl. Amidst the Reggie Bush talk, and perpetual losing he has played really, really well. He is so much better than Coleman it's not even funny. He's been breaking up passes and laying the wood on WR's, something we havent seen since the likes Matt Stevens  ... anywho he along with Mathis and DD have been the lone bright spots on this team for me.

Well, he is okay. He nor CC have the speed and football intelligence to cover and reconize the deep route, and they miss open field tackles at times.

I am looking to possibly the Texans getting lucky and drafting Huff out of Texas. a guy who has speed and decent size.

i agree Brand0n...i was hoping for a mid-round (2-4) safety draft pick but earl has come along nicely the last two years. laying the wood is right, we might have the speed (and more importantly the physicality) we've been lacking in the deep secondary to make our play-off push in the near future. maybe not ed reed...but a bright spot this season...and that's saying something:redtowel:

cc definately has the speed, but he was a sixth rounder for a reason. earl might turn out to be a fourth round steal, and he is cast in the "roy williams" mold....lack of outright speed is offset by his ability to make crossing routes off limits for the recievers health (not yet per se, but he does manipulate lumber  )

I agree with this. Brown and Earl, if they can stay healthy and continue to develop, could be the start of a nice three headed monster at the Safety positions for years to come.

I think with more experience his instincts and recognition will start to take form, turning him into a monster.

There are some positives with our coverage players, but for the most part I'd like to see some big upgrades. I haven't seen such lame pass coverage in a hometown team since....well, I can't even remember the last time it was this bad.

Earl is definitely one of our minor bright spots, but that doesn't say a whole lot.

I think the jury's out on his football intelliegnce but as for his speed .... who had (has) more speed? Earl or John Lynch in his prime? pure speed is nice but isn't a must have for a strong safety ...

I think CC is decent, and he will get better, this is just his first year. I think Earl could end up being pretty good. He got injured around this time 3 years ago, and I want to say it was either ACL/MCL. So his first year was really spent towards recovery and now this is like his first year. I agree with most on the board that think they have potential to be a good combo.
