Giants on MNF

Dance Lindsay!
Ok, I didn't see a thread any where (easily could have missed it; move/merge as needed) - WTH at the NFL having a game against the Texans?!

(and giving Nicks an extras day to heal)

2 related threads in the NFL section.

good news
Noted it would be a regional showing ..... if it happens. "FOX will have regional coverage of the game in both Minnesota and New York. The change won't affect the Monday Night Football game; Baltimore and Houston which will kick off at 8:30 p.m. ET on ESPN, as scheduled."

Metrodome collapses

Last I saw on MSN, may not even go off for Monday night at that location.

The Vikings/Giants game is only being shown in the Minneapolis and NY markets, so in the vast majority of the country, there is no game opposite Texans/Ravens.

Good info guys, only even knew about this because of fantasy football. (the time change, didn't know about Metrodome or playing in Det!)

Who cares? For a team that is trying to grow its fan base having a national market team like the Giants play on Monday night at the same time is a concern.

I could give two hoots about "expanding" this fan base. I'm here and I'm just about gosh dang ready to go to the playoffs. Just worry about winning, please? Okay? Thanx, Bob.

LMAO, I agree - but I mean the more of a national fan base we can build = the more prime time games we get = more MNF's! Of course, winning helps, too.

Plus, remember when Austin didn't even show the games? Fan base size does affect fans whether we like it or not.

Yes.

Things like fan bases and television markets are extremely important to NFL teams. A lot of revenue comes from television rights, and when a team like the Texans struggle to hold on to a market like Austin that's a problem. And, remember when the Texans also lost the Beaumont-Port Arthur market a few years ago? Those things matter.

Why do you think almost every Dallas Cowboy game is on prime time? Every time I turn around, there's Dallas on at night. It's because their overall fan base is huge.
