Gary Kubiak To Be Name As Texans Coach

It appears Gary Kubiak will get a chance to coach in his hometown.

The Houston Chronicle is reporting that the long-time offensive coordinator of the Denver Broncos will be named as the coach of the Houston Texans.

The announcement will be made after the Broncos' postseason run. Denver (13-3) will host the New England Patriots Saturday night in the divisional playoffs.

This the guy I wanted to be the new coach. Im glad the texans are planning on hiring him

Does this mean that Bush is coming to H-town? We all know how Kubiak likes to run the ball, and we know how he likes to have an arsenal of tailbacks.

Nice first post, welcome to the board!

I'm glad they got Kubiak. We should have known it would be someone that Cass & McNair could tell what to do. If he had any thought of not getting RB with#1, and rather getting defense (like my scenario), he'd have to fact the wrath of Casserly pressing him to draft RB.

I guess we'll all know by March 1.

Casserly is actually not big on drafting RBs early in the draft. He has stated it over and over. I am not sure about his feelings on Bush. This may be more of McNair's call than anyone else's. I also do not think that Kubiak is going to be the type of coach that backs down to anyone. Quite the opposite. Just because someone is laid-back, does NOT mean they will get run over. They just have a different way of approaching things.

Also, don't think he is all that layed back. He gets up in the grill of the Denver players on occassion. Doesn't do it every ten seconds like some where it just becomes background noise, but when he does folks pay attention.
