If you wanna call that "1" good year then by all means go ahead but that looks like 3 to me and no history of injuries.

He did pretty good against Ohio State's defense, and he was their main target.

[Wolfe] totaled 171 yards on the ground and had five catches for 114 yards.

Yeah, I'd take him, first chance the Texans get. He has great speed and lateral movement, something the Texans sorely lack. However, based on highlights from the OSU game, he looks to enjoy picking his holes. I'm not sure if that will work in the Texans system.

5-7 and 177 pounds.

Barry Sanders: 5-6, 206 pounds

There's a difference, but not enough to make me think he won't be able to contribute. At the very least, the way this guy can explode off the ball, he could tear up the place as a returner.

Is he injury-prone?

Was DD in college? What I meant was that he'll take a beating in the NFL, not sure how durable he will be.

I would take him over Peterson right now, but I have mixed feelings about the NFL.

I'm a Buckeye, I was ticked how many yards we gave up, until I watched him in subsequent games and realized we DID restrict him.

I like him, and definately would draft him. He's a producer, and unlike the rest of his team, a winner. But no way would I take him earlier than the 3rd.

He is tearing up the MAC, and will probably continue to do so. But it is obvious to me that the talent is there. He reminds of Reggie Bush, but is smaller.

How long before we start comparing Peterson and Wolfe?

seems like every year some small back gets the "what about barry sanders?" question, and they always disappear.

besides, sanders was a tank. wolfe is a scrawny little thing.

"he's tearing up the mac"

yeah...um...did you guys see him play the #1 team in the country, Ohio State? He ran for like 170 yards on them...He has pro potential..probably as a Kick/punt returner and scatback/#3 WR..obviously 170 is about 40-50 pounds too small to be a 15-20 carries a game RB in the pros.

Oregon had a back played with or just befor Steve Smith now with St. Louis, Ken Simington. I believe.
Look, he's a feel good guy and I give him all the credit in the world for his production.
But the five hundred pound Gorrilla is the guy is at least four inches too short and thirty to fourty pounds too light. He's definately a play maker. You're telling me we're going to take the guy late day two or sign the guy as a free agent to compete for the KR/PR # 5 reciever job, I got no problem with that. You're telling me we're taking the guy for ten touches per game as a running back, my humble opinion is no way Jose. He could work in the slot in a four reciever set and be productive. I knew Charlie Tolar. And Wolfe is no Charlie Tolar. He's just too danged little. And ther's no way to get around that.

Wolfe > Peterson :)

Please don't say "it's his conference"...the size arguement, is all anyone should question...well, that and "can he carry the ball 20+ times in the nfl"...I think he can, imo.

But like I said, the conference thing...isn't a good arguement...

See: LaDainian Tomlinson and the WAC.

I really dont see too many people questioning the small school thing, Michael Turner already proved that NIU isnt too small. However, his size is the BIG question. 180 pounds is small for a DB, its going to be tough, but he definitely is the most intriguing prospect this entire year in the draft to date.

what? he's still a backup. tomlinson has done more to fight the small school myth than anyone.
Try and tell me that next season when he becomes a starter somewhere (unless SD hits him with the highest RFA tag and nobody feels like giving up a 1st and a 3rd).

for two straight weeks wolfe has been shutdown by bad teams. TEMPLE held him to 45 yards this past week. TEMPLE. he's really not that good.

he has been shut down the past two weeks but is still the leading rusher in the nation. Everybody that says he is making plays against poor talent needs to remember that he plays for one of those teams and has poor talent blocking for him (except their LT Free who is a beast).
He also doesnt seem to mind bustin one up the middle and gettin hit

I know. I watch their games during the week cuz nothin else is on. I meant that he has much more potential than the other players on the field. He is an amazing physical talent but he doesnt seem to know what is happening around him on the field

Barry Sanders is 5'8.

And how many champioships rings does Barry Have ? And I'm sure, you're not projecting Barry Sanders production onto Wolfe are you ? I can see an Eric Metcalf/Freeman McNeil. I don't see Barry Sanders. Kubes likes the guy and takes a shot I'm on board. After last years picks, imho, the scouts can do no wrong right now. TBS, 170 is still 170.
