GAMEDAY - TEXANS @ KC

Something wrong with the dude if he's traded by the WR needy Steelers right after signing a new contract for a CB coming off an achilles and a 6th round pick swap. And then to be traded by that WR needy Panthers team just a few short months later along with a 6th round pick for a 5th next year. And then he refused to go in a game when asked! Want no part of that cancer in this city!
He's a FA after this season and wasn't going back to the Steelers so they traded him for what they could get for Dionte. The rest of your post I've responded too. Even if he's a cancer which I doubt he will be, the team should be able to survive 6 weeks of Dionte. There's no doubt that adding him would be a plus. You cant deny his talent. He immediately becomes WR2.

I guess you want the dude that quit on the 49ers as well?

I don't want anyone that refused to play anywhere!

I have to disagree with JB. We need a short term rental. How much damage can the kid do? At this point, the potential benefits outweigh the risks. Johnson is a very legit WR2 on a good team when right, and a clear one on a WR poor team.

If they are even mildly serious about competing for anything this year, Nick has already made the call to his agent.

I don't care how talented he is. He REFUSED to play when his team needed him!

I don’t know how to read this loss really, oh so near yet oh so far. But had we beaten them I’d have still feared a playoff rematch.

Lost some key players, though.
"So near yet oh so far".
Yep I think that sums it up.
Tank's loss was a double whammy: psychologically I think it took the wind out of the teams sailes and it put our whole offense down to a lower level as Tank was the most effective receiver againt the Chiefs this afternnon.
And that one play where MaHomes pass was ruled incomplete that we recovered and took the
took to the EZ while on the same play the Texans were penalized for a roughing the passer
when only incidental contact occured - very, very suspect officiating on this sinle play which
was critical.

We are still a contender but we have to have a WR2!

I’m 100000% on the Doucheba…. Sorry I meant… Dionte bandwagon. Absolutely bring him in.

Incidental, yes. Penalty, yes. Everyone knows the rules. I hate the rule, and I wasn’t happy, but the call was 100% correct.

I thought he was a FA. He is not. He will go through waivers on Monday. The Texans can put a claim in, but if someone else puts in a claim, and they are higher on the waiver wire, the Texans won’t have a shot at him. That’s out of their hands. If he clears waivers…then any team can sign him.

Unfortunately, yes. There is depth in 2025 WR class. There is depth in RB class & interior OL as well. Front end, draft what you know, DL & Secondary. Still a lot of stacking to be done, Brevin Jordan will return as will Stover, so TE is not priority need.

I'd rather take any other scrub than that cancer Johnson or Odell Bullshit Jr.
I'd rather add someone who's been out of the league like Mike Thomas over Johnson. Speaking of Johnson's, there are 2 on the PS

So you dont want the best players possible on the team you root for?

I just want Stroud to have the best weapons possible. I dont want a repeat of last yr when Stroud didn't have anybody other than Nico that could beat press coverage and certainly didn't threaten the Ravens vertically.

So the deep WR room we had at end of training camp got thin really fast. We lost our 2 & 3 and nobody not named Collins does anything. Hutch can't block, Metchie can't catch and Woods age is showing. Those young guys on the PS have a golden opportunity. Noah Brown would look pretty good right now.

Just goes to show you that preseason can be fool’s gold. Hutch and Metchie looked really good in preseason but not so much in regular season. Cream rises to the top and thus far they haven’t been it.

We knew what we had in Woods, just wished that he was in a WR4 role and not the likely WR2 at this point in his career.

Noah Brown was in the training room all offseason and on IR now. Highly doubt that would have changed if he was still on this team.

The five headed monster wasn’t here all season. Nico and Mixon when they are in the lineup absolutely. Tank for one half of football looked like his rookie year self but unfortunately injured. Diggs had his moments as a supporting piece but never really took over a game while here. Schultz is not the TE I would build in a lab (sorry CJ).

And the two guys holding for the Chiefs on the same play? You are saying every technical penalty should be called, then those arms around our rushers necks need to be called every time, not just late when a bad thing happens. Did you see how late that flag came out?

Agree. Last year, Noah Brown had 33 RECs and 567 yards. This year, the trio of Metchie (17-182), Hutchinson (17-181) and Woods (16-143) have combined for 506 yards.

I get that they liked Metchie and were hoping he would contribute this year. But they could have put him on the practice squad and kept Brown as proven quality depth. No team was going to pluck Metchie off the practice squad and if they did, he would be available to sign off that team's practice squad.

CJ needs a security blanket outside of Nico that can work inside. Schultz is soft as baby **** and as slow as an old man’s ****.

He also needs a play caller worth a damn.
Exactly, look at Goff, he has st brown and la porta. We saw what happened when la porta got injured = 5 picks. Even Mahomes has 3 which is crazy, worthy, kelce, Hopkins. What were the Texans thinking when they let go of Noah Brown? He played like a safety blanket for Cj in some of those games.

According to a lot of posts Ive seen here people think there is already a divide between CJ and Slowick.

IF that is the case, bringing in another fire needing to be put out might actually solve the fire already building.

Doubtful but if there is a rift, maybe you create a "the enemy of my enemy is my friend". Which means maybe the new guy comes in, tries to start something the current fued is forgotten and they focus on the new guy thats making waves.

Or.... players stick together, you just threw fuel on the fire so it burns faster, hotter and brighter and maybe offensive coaches go missing at the end of the season bringing in new faces.

Either outcome is fine with me at this point. I don't care how it gets fixed... just that it does

So, maybe we should be checking all those preseason high expectations at the door. Maybe writing the word “injuries” 50 times on the blackboard if you’re a little stubborn.

Without a doubt preseason expetitions should be out the window for our team & every other team out there. The Chiefs don't look near as scary as they did in previous years. The Lions, the Bills... on the same field they didn't look better than our team... our team that we spend countless hours complaining about (myself included).

This ain't the team I thought it was going to be. But they're good enough to win. Maybe not the Super Bowl, but good enough to beat any AFC team in January.

Defense travels come playoff time and I will take the Texans defense (even with the injuries to Ward and Pitre) over any other.
