Game not showing in Austin

So much for KEYE being the home of the Texans. They are always the home of the Cowboys when given the choice.

BTW, head down to the Lavaca St Bar. I think they go a real good thing going there.

Gonna take a Super Bowl win to start to fix this.
The Rio Grande Valley's KGBT-TV is joining 15 other CBS affiliates in Texas who are showing the Cowboys game.

Only CBS affiliates in Houston, Beaumont, Bryan and Victoria are showing the Texans game.

the sad thing is they are opting to be treated like a dallas market, meaning if even the cowgirls are being blown out, they will show the entire game.

What?? Did VY find a new gig??

Keep it weird, Austin!! ;)

Can't lay this one on the "they're only playing JAX" marketing excuse. Texas' worst NFL team is playing the Browns. The choice is Division game vs. an interconference yawner.

Unless the excuse is that this a rare opportunity for people to see Dallas win...?

I will be in Corpus for a softball tourney, wonder if they show it there?
I have NFL Ticket so I will dvr it from there.

Just checked. The game is on locally here. The Dolphins play Thursday night so the Jags get the CBS slot in the Orlando market this weekend.

Who would've ever guessed that I would have had to move from Austin to Florida just to see the Texans on local TV. :)

Also looks like Sunday 12-23-12 both Texans and cowpies play @ noon on Fox as well. Maybe the Mayans were right :gun:

Hmm .. normally the NFL schedules better than that. Normally there is only 1 conflict during the seaon.

What's interesting is if you go to the Cowboys schedule here ...

http://www.dallascowboys.com/team/season-schedule.html

and look at the game that day (vs the Saints), it says presented by "Reliant".

So Bob is sponsoring the Cowboys game that will be shown in place of his team throughout most of Texas?

Just sent my obligitory comments to KEYE...does no good, but it makes me feel better.

Hardcore...I got your IM and responded.

How many games do they show?

Where I live (S.E. Texas) the Cowboys game would be on one channel & the Texans another. Then there will be a second game at 3, then Sunday night football. So I'd get 4 games every Sunday.

If you don't have a setup like this, something is wrong.

I think

Maybe it is time to bang on the NFL instead of the local stations.
Anyone want to start a petition to the NFL, there should be no conflicts between the Texans and the cowboys when you factor in the prime time games the teams play in.
:texan:

The way it works is cbs has the AFC games, and fox has the NFC games. When there is an inter-conference game the home TV station of the visiting team carries the game. When that happens it's possible for both Texans and Cowboys to air on the same station at the same time slot. This usually happens one or two times a year. It will happen again on Fox for 12-23, both teams play on the same network at the same time (unless we get flexed, which would be great but I haven't look to see the current SNF game that week). At that point its up to the local affiliate to carry whichever game they want, and they always choose cowpies over the Texans.

I just checked it's Charger/Jets, so that game could very well be flexed :)

I understand that. Steleehin seems to be describing something else.

The only thing Steleehin said was the game won't be shown in Austin. The Texans won't be shown in Austin because Dallas is playing Cleveland and that game will be shown on CBS instead.

Dallas/New Orleans is flexible if both teams go on winning streaks. I doubt the Houston/Minnesota game gets flexed.
