A good qb makes the entire offense look better then they really are including the OC. A bad qb makes the entire offense look worse then they really are.

Nfl defenses have adjusted to cj. That adjustment is pushing him out of the pocket. That is his kryptonite. And cj has not been able to adjust to that. That was the knock on him coming out of college

They’ve adjust to Slowik’s playcalling annd our lack of playmaking personnel..all they’re doing to him is what they do to all QBs b/c it works.. getting pressure on him and moving him off his spot to disrupt the timing of the throw play. This is where your OC is supposed to help you make the defense pay for their aggression..you see Reid help Mahomes with quick, short passes to get the ball out of his hands..moving the pocket. Bunch formations..quick pick plays…CJ isn’t getting much help in that area.

I get Stroud is having a down season but acting like he’s Jamarcus Russell makes no sense. 19 TDS 11 ints isn’t pretty but it’s not terrible either. It’s different factors that play into Stroud having an off season. I know we get tired of the excuses but it’s something you can’t ignore. The line has been poor all season. Wr 2 and 3 are out for the season. Wr 1 missed a good proportion of the season. I’m not giving up on Cj. Hes a franchise qb. Many hof QBs have had an inconsistent season under there belt.

Yeah I’m not defending his performance. But there are very valid reasons for his performance. Can’t play with confidence when u don’t have confidence in your protection, nor any of the guys you’re throwing to except Nico. That’s not even talking about the Slowik factor. He’s not out there performing in a vacuum. His performance LITERALLY depends on others.

CJ did good buying time and delivering passes last season. Then again his receivers were more in sync with him as well. It really sucks about Tank Dell getting injured at any time but especially now when he just started looking like his best self from last season before that injury took place. I don't just say that from a football perspective because on a human level it sucks even more! Hopefully Slowik is replaced by a more competent offensive coordinator and Tank doesn't miss all of next season!

CJ has missed on several of those plays by over throwing his check downs. You do see that as well correct?
 
I think it's safe to say I'm one of S2roud's biggest critics.

Doesn't mean I've given up on him. Just that S2roud & Slowick need to get their ish together.

Stroud has been inaccurate and is playing scared today. Maybe that's because the O-Line is trash and Slowik is awful as a play-caller, but this team isn't going deep into the playoffs unless Stroud starts to play the way he did last year. Nothing from any game this season makes me think Stroud has that in him right now.

I agree that the players should have believed in it, The coaching staff, not so much. Unfortunately, it appears that Slow bought into the hype. It really sucks watching the OC AND QB have sophomore slumps. The INTs CJ lucked out on last year haven't been falling to the turf this year.
Finding a competent OL coach should be a major emphasis this coming offseason. Possibly OC too, if a good one who coaches the same system can be found.

The question is if he ever will. Cannot assume he will figure things out

While true, he's missed so many open receivers today even when not under pressure. Something's going on with C.J.

But he’s had good protection so far. Every quarterback is going to get hit from time to time. CJ has to dust himself off and lead his troops. He has to follow the same exact advice he tried to give to Caleb Williams.

I know this, if C.J. continues to perform at this level, a long term big money deal should never happen.

He’s gonna miss throws. No qb has 100% accuracy. He’s also been sacked 3 times already..hit 2-3 other times. His protection has not been all that great. And the playcalling has not assisted him all that well either. That red zone play call was trash.

I don't agree that CJ is garbage but aside from that we agree. I agree that the entire team overall has been disappointing, It is a good thing we are in a weak division or we could very well be one of the two or three win teams as opposed to nine wins.
 
offensive scheme is horrible. same play action every pass play, you’re not fooling anyone. Cj taking that hit is dumb. Don’t risk your health in a game that’s been decided
