I don't think it was a BS response. If a HS boys team can beat the women's national team, I don't think you can state that the women's game is more physical. Sure, if you were to say "relative to how physical women can be," it might be more physical than men's soccer can be "relative to how physical men can be", but in an absolute sense, there isn't a woman's sport that is more physical than the men's version.


I like soccer (have reffed hs mens and womens in the past) but I don't think even in that space that women are more physical. If I had to describe it, I would say they are more aggressive but it isn't anywhere near as physical as the mens game. Front line leagues tend to protect their players a bit more but go watch an amateur game or a game in a league where people are trying to make it to the next level.
