Game Day: Jaguars at Texans

10-3 at the half

stupid play by the Jags, a stupid play by Gaff, stupid mentals errors by both sides....

Gaffney doesn't have a mental lapse and this looks more like 17-3 at the half. (And of course it isn't and I understand that) but overall, I'll take it. Good game so far and the Reliant crowd brought their "A" game apparently. Nice and noisy.

Halftime updates:

Dallas and Det. tied up at 14
Titans 13 to 3 over the bungels
Giants 17 Vikes 0
Chiefs 31 Indy 14

And in teh Election Bowl
Kerry 17 Bush 7

Both teams are playing give away, but Houston came out of this better than I expected. We will find out whether Lefty is injured after the half time. A lot of times these kind of injuries can tighten up. While your are in the game you are loose, but when you sit you tighten up. David is certainly having a very good game statistically. I hope it continues and is not the reverse of the past few weeks. We need 4 good qtrs from David with a blistering finish. Should we beat the Jags its looking very good for our standings in our conference.

Should be at least 17-3 but same ol problems with stupid penalties and mistakes.
Ok... If we are going to play the "Should" game then that David Carr paly SHOULD have been a fumble which SHOULD have given us the ball instead of those 7.

True that Ibar, One thing I've been thinking about is that maybe we're all way off base about more than one team scoring a playoff slot from the AFC South. I think with the Jags and Texans so improved, and the Colts still very good, and the Titans still able to knock you off at any time maybe we're all going to just beat each other up and the Wild Cards might come from the other divisions that don't have the depth of ours.

In the next couple of years this rivarly will become much greater while COlts and Tacks enjoy there stay at the bottom.

Everyone plays the "should" game. One event though changes the subsequent events and nobody can figure out what "would" happen after that. The Gaffney play though, you honestly have to admit, was a complete mental lapse. It had no other outside influences. No bad call was made, no Jag player affected it. It was nothing more than Jabar forgetting to give the Texans another 7 points.

Now the Carr play I'll admit I think was a bad call that went our way. I can see the frustration in that one (we've had our share since coming back into the league like everybody).

That play by Gaffney was stupid and imo was trying to show off but it just slipped.

I thought that until I saw the replay from the aerial view, it looked to me like he was trying to put both hands on the ball.

Which is why you just run into the end zone and leave all that junk for later. You want to go dancing and leaping around once you've scored fine but don't get ahead of yourself Jabar.

Actually I think another factor we are familar with is coming into play for a number of teams. That's the injury factor. A number of the leaders are beginning to have problems with injuries and this may be the year of who has the least key injuries. NY is certainly playing better than a lot thought and they may knock off the Vikes. A lot of the races are starting to tighten up and I think its going to be who is hot in December that determines the playoff spots. Even NE could suddenly loose 4 in a row, not likely, but don't under estimate what can happen in the NFL. Knock on wood we seem to be improving our position week by week despite the horrible start. May be it was a lesson well learned.

its was stupid but i dont think he was trying to show off. he was trying to hold the ball out over the end zone for the score.

It was stupid because he didn't need to extend teh ball, he could have walked in.
