Game day Giants at Texans

Serenity now, serenity now!!!

Serenity now...insanity later!

Texans down 21 at the half. Let's see them LOL their way out of this one.

"Stop the run game, we'll worry about sacks after that." -- Justin Tuck

Its our pass defense. Texans thought Kareem Jackson would fill some holes there but he's done the exact opposite.

What was with Kubiak's ****ing obsession to draft 3-4 tight ends when it was clear we needed more than one corner?

I have to agree with Dex in this thread. Our offensive scheme to begin the game was too "soft". We needed to establish the run, a wasted opportunity.

What's funny is we have been pretty terrible at getting the Tight Ends involved in the offense this season.

.

Now the Giants know they can "tee off" on Schaub with a 3-touchdown
lead. The second half is about to get UGLY. Props to the crowd at
Reliant letting the team know what it thinks about that first-half performance.

I've always wished they would draft multiple players at positions of need. The more you draft, the better chance that one of them turns out to be effective.

Let's recap.

No passing game.
No running game.
No run defense.
Same old **** in the secondary.

I have hard time believing that we'll be able to relearn how to play football in 20 minutes but weirder things have happened I suppose...

Its sucks to be amped up all week for a big game and then have it be out of reach by two minutes into the 2nd quarter. This Defense blows.

we drafted two corners in this draft, 1 te
we drafted two corners in last yrs draft, 2 te's

i know ppl are frustrated but if you're goin to complain at least try to make sense. these growing pains are sucking balls though i agree

I learned to stop amping myself up for Texans games, after the performance
against the Cowboys. This team surprises elite teams, hangs with (sometimes)
the good teams, competes with average teams, and smashes the bad
teams.

Same 'ol, same 'ol, for the last five years.

They need to do like Moose said: Go with the power game, pull the guards and let Ward find the hole. The GMen have game planned Arian right out of the game. The cut back lanes are not there and all hands are up in the passing lanes between the numbers. The Texans need to develop an entirely different game plan at the half.

This is some terrible play calling and even worse execution, they also don't seem to be making any adjustments to counter what the Giants are doing.

How do you leave the Giants best WR, Nicks, wide open in the end zone.

He has been open in the end zone, as well as the sideline, and also in the middle of the field. He should have had another TD if he hadn't of dropped that easy ball to him.

Where to begin?

Someone needs to file a missing person's report because someone is in #56 uniform and it isn't Brian Cushing.

#25 is a B-U-S-T. He sucks. Horrible. Michael Jackson can cover better than this guy - and he is dead.

The secondary as a whole. Simply awful. I'm getting tired of seeing soft zone coverage, with no pressure at all up front. Little blitzing, very vanilla. Hell, Mrs. Manning would hang 300 yds and 3 td's on this D. Frank Bush sucks today.

On offense, Kubiak again decides to come out cute when we needed to come out smash mouth, establish the run and match their physicality and toughness. Based on things so far, maybe it would not have worked but I have to question the offensive philosophy early.

Otherwise on Offense, we are just getting man-handled physically one on one. They are doing a FANTASTIC job on their defense of closing off the cutback lanes. We need to go to a man scheme and scrap the zone runs in the second half.

Schaub seems to have shrunk about 6 inches and seems to be better at finding the Giants D-lineman then his own teammates. What is it now - 4 tips and an interception? He is terrible today.

Then we have all kinds of mental errors, penalties, and general sloppiness in all 3 phases of the game.

Lastly, the coaching staff is getting their ass handed to them in all 3 phases. out-coached, out game-planned, out-schemed. BIG TIME.

The one and only bright spot at all that I can find is that OD is getting open and seems to be moving better than at any time this season. Hopefully that bodes well for the future.

I don't see much hope in half 2. I would dial up the pressure and bring every exotic scheme, blitz and throw everything I have at Manning in the 2nd half and see if mistakes can be forced.

On offense, I'm looking at some mis-direction, some reverses and end arounds, some draws and screens, etc and maybe try some straight man blocking and use Derrick Ward more.

It's an extreme longshot, but if they can create some TO's there is a glimmer of hope.

For some odd reason, as the pundits kept picking Houston to win this past week I kept bracing myself for this. It is a pattern. Good press is usually followed by bad play with this team. :gun:
So we're blaming this performance by the Texans on the pundits ?
