Game 5...Rock or Drop...Kansas City Chiefs!

JamTex

Hall Of Fame Texans Fan!
On Sunday October 8th at 7:30 pm central time, the Texans will take on the Kansas City Chiefs at NRG Stadium. The game will be aired locally in Houston on NBC channel 2.
After what we've seen the last 2 weeks, it's hard to go against Watson and his offense.
Keep in mind that Alex Smith has Travis Kelce, Tyreek Hill and Kareem Hunt.
That's a difficult offense to stop.
If there's a defense that can slow them down, it's JJ and the boys. They managed to stop the most potent running game in the league and stopped the oh so dangerous Marcus Mariota.
They can do it again against Alex and his boys.
On our side of the ball, we have Deshaun Watson, Deandre Hopkins, D'onte Foreman, Will Fuller, Ryan Griffin, Lamar Miller and the rest of the offense.
It's going to be an all out fight in the air. On the ground, our Texans have the advantage. In the air, our Texans still have the advantage.
On defense, our Texans definitely have the advantage.
Advantage.... Texans.....

Texans 35
Chiefs 21

Mariota got hurt, I would hardly say we were stopping them in the first half. We probably win even if he plays the whole game but our defense was not a strong suit today.

All those picks and fumbles by Cassel probably don't happen with Mariota

This is a true test. With all the loses this week, we are in good shape to be a legit threat.

Well I can't argue with you there except that 3 turn overs were on Mariota while 2 were on Cassel. So go figure.
Either way, the Texans dominated the Titans in every aspect of the game. I expect allot more of the same next week. We'll see soon enough.

And quite frankly, 30-14 at the half in Houston's favor is more then stopping them in the first half. I have to think by your comment, you could not have been watching the same Texans vs Titans game the rest of us watched today.

Even better to me is Texans dominated PATs in almost every category except final score. I was concerned Texans would be too high but they handled themselves today as professionals.

This is the biggest game in Texans history
please explain? I would have thought any playoff loss would have been bigger than this one. They will either be 2-3 or 3-2 and game 6 could go either way and it also will not decide how 2017 record will be.

Didn't Mariotta throw 2 pick while he was in? He was a much more dangerous runner than passer

Frankly, I don't expect to win this game. Chiefs 24, Texans 20. And no, it isn't an especially pivotal contest.

Honestly I think we beat the Chiefs next week...... I did not feel like that 2 weeks ago but guys we scored 36 and 57 points in the last 2 weeks alone and the addition of Fuller back to this offense takes us up a gear completely...... Chiefs won’t stop Deshaun with another week to practice with these guys...... I think our offense only goes up from here guys and becomes one of the most explosive units in the league

Now the question is can we stop them as well or will this be a track meet....... the defense has looked like crap and a shell of last years if you ask me...... no real pass rush with All the studs we have in our front seven ....... but they are solid..... and the secondary scares me sometime because sometimes the last few weeks somebody gets open and it’s so wide open it looks like a blown assignment or something and it’s been huge plays....... that happens with all those weapons the Chiefs have we gonna have to outscore them

But overall I like our chances actually now ...... can’t believe it but I do

Texans 48, Chiefs 27

I expect to win big and continue to roll.
Our defense has some kinks to work out though.
I'm concerned with J.J. Watt's injured finger.

We have two bye weeks in a row after this huge game.
The winless Browns at home and our actual bye week.
Hue Jackson is going to resign or be fired if that continues.

Hue Jackson is 9-25 (.265 winning %) as a head coach.
All he does is lose games with the Browns. 1-19 record.

Haven't had a chance to digest what each team did this week... maybe add a thought Wed or so

This is going to be a really tough match up. Peters is real physical and probably doesn't need help over the top with Hopkins, Houston and Ford could have monster days against our tackles, Jones is a beast in the middle.

On offense they are fast with Hunt and Hill, Kelce is a stud and Alex Smith can run. Big test for our young linebackers.

The good news is they have to play Monday night which gives the Texans an extra day and a half of rest, recovery and game planning.

Unless they lose tonight, they are the best team in the NFL currently.

A win here would be amazing, especially Sunday night, especially against these guys who have bullied us since Reid has taken over.

Still waiting to see something from Vrabel. Time to live up to all the hype. Has he added anything of substance to the D.
Another overvalued plum with Belichek training?

I'm more impressed with the job Bobby King is doing. Impressive resume'. http://www.houstontexans.com/team/coaches/bobby-king/00e62943-ff06-44b4-863c-095edf70af9c

RAC hasn't retired yet, has he? Might need to put him back to work.

For whatever reason when Clowney, Watt and Merci are on the field at the same time the pass rush just isn't ferocious as you would think.

And while Clowney has been good he just isnt the game changer (see Von Miller, Khalil Mack) that i thought he could be.

What I want to see:

D.Watson continue to build on his impressive start. With the previous QBs who started out hot to fizzle (VY,Kap,RGIII,Mark Sanchez*), I don't want to see the Chiefs defense figure him out and lay the blueprint for the rest of this seasons opponents to follow.

The refs actually call holding. I feel like our defenders (especially Watt) have a different ruleset. I see so much jersey holding, bear hugging, and clothes lining out there its unreal. Throw some flags early, let the linemen know that won't be allowed.

If those two things happen, the game should be close and entertaining.

Isn't this the same exact team we just played? Mariota vs Smith(reliant on the running game), Great running game, Good TE. Do what you did last week and you will be just fine.

As of last week KC was in the bottom quarter of the league in defense. I like the Texans chances if they can continue the last two weeks of play offensively.

Gonna find out what this team is made of against KC. Tennessee and NE have pretty poor defenses, putting up 30+ on KC will be tough.

Naw we did stop and putting a hurting to Mariota.

Why would it take 30+ to beat KC? They've not played a good defense yet and scored 27/24 their last two games.

Washington tonight is a good test for KC. This is the first legitimate defense they have faced this year. The Redskins offense is no slouch either.

Will be very interesting game to watch tonight.

Let's hope the Texans Rock this game and don't Drop it. If we see a performance similar to what we saw the last 2 weeks, the Texans will Rock and Roll all over the Chiefs. If the Chiefs some how figure out how to slow Watson and this offense down, the Texans might Drop this game. I don't think we'll see Watson, Watt and the Texans drop this one. Time to rock and roll Texans.
GO TEXANS!

I've checked the local listings, and don't find anyone broadcasting it in Houston. Guess I'll miss it. Oh well.

Yeah, they haven't put Monday night games on local channels in years unless it's your city's team that's playing. At least that's the way I think it works.

Lol was just being silly. I remember when it always seemed someone said this every week
it could definitely be biggest game of this season especially if it is a W. I'm really concerned about injuries happening.I think we might be developing some depth on defense and maybe even on the O. Fuller has not eliminated my concern but first game back from injury gets 35 yards and two TDs? Ellington clipping along at almost 15 per catch and Hopkins ..looking like the 'Nuk of old. We just might be ok there and Chris Thompson not sure how he will do as WR but the one kick return for 42 was very satisfying. Hope Todman gets a snap or two here and there with Ervin out.

This is Watson's first game against a legit defense. This game will be very telling as far as Watson and O'Brien's ability to call a game.

Watching this monday night game.. KC's defense doesn't scare me....especially without Eric Berry. Peters just got burned for a long TD by Pryor. their offense on the other hand...pretty scary with Hill and Hunt although they haven't done anything thus far.
