Game 2 Thread: Texans @ Colts

What's the big deal? First, we were told to give the team 6-8 games before we would see improvement--then, we were told it would take a couple of years 'together' for everything to 'gel' and we might start winning...

Heck, we're only in the 2nd game! You aren't suppose to complain for at least a couple of years--sit back, relax, take a deep breath, and just enjoy NFL Football in our town.

It looked very dismal today bud. No question about it. San Francisco is looking exciting today for crying out loud! Not much to be positive about today in the face of all of the negatives.

Ugh. Ugh. Ugh.

It could be alot worse, just look at Oakland.

Well that was no fun today

Yeah ... I'd rather sleep in next Sunday than watch another game like today. I get so tired of seeing the other team laughing and joking around while we get clobbered.

Excuse me. But, the only way Carr score those last touchdowns cause the Colts pull out their first string, and had second/third string players on defense. If the first string was still in, Carr shouldn't scored. The final score should have been 17-53, instead of 24-47.

Another day at the office for Carr.

You know that really explains it. i was listening to the radio later on and they were saying it took carr so long to get his feet under him. No it took the opponent to take out their first string.

The Defense was flat because they got the wind kicked out of them by that stellar first series by Carr. I know he's not completely to blame, but these rookie mistakes he makes deflates the team.

For constructive idea. If your pick put the D on the field first. last 2 weeks the offensive circus sucked the air out of the team.

Also, no telling how good or bad the D is, because they don't get alot of down time because the offense can't seem to stay on the field consistantly.

Anyway, its only the second game. I hope there is a remedy to David Carr and his fat contract. I dont' think Bush had a place on the team because he's got a bad attitude, however, the David Carr is our leader will keep coming back to bite them in the butt.

/sigh. At least he's one year close to retirement now.
/sigh. If we finish last maybe we can draft Brady Quinn

Oh well.

It wasnt full second/third string, but they were rotating in lots of guys who would not normally be playing with some of the starters.

I was gloomy all day, but I just saw the Tennessee score. My life is great right now. Having Peyton Manning, Donovan McNabb, Andre Johnson, and the Ravens' D on some of my FF teams helped though.

That 2nd and 3rd team stuff is just pure BS. Both team were roatting a lot of players through out the game. At one point in the second quarter, the only starter we had in was Seth Payne. Until the last 2-3 min. it was mostly starters. Even on the last drive by the Texans, the Colts had 6 starters in. So to say it was all second and third teamers is total BS. I guess that's why Manning was still throwing deep on their last drive. Just liked playing with the backups.

...what attitude? Hes just cocky.

If we had bush we'd still be 0 and 2 anyway.

My first Impressions of the game:

QB: not a lot to complain about not a lot to hang our hats on...Carr has looked better, still needs to improve...is not where he is expected to be after 5 years but hey..I hear we're on the 20 yr plan with Carr...

RB: Wali Lundy is not a starter...Ron Dayne and Gato both looked better than him...I don't think we have our RB of the future on this team yet, but I expect to see more of Dayne and Gato and less of Lundy...

OL: Again...not a lot to complain about...not a lot to brag about...The O-line played decent...Flannagan, and Spencer will be missed....I'm not sure how long Flannagan will be out but Spencer will definitely have some catching up to do next year...

WR: ehhh....Nothing spectacular....A.J could have easily had the best game of the bunch, but he got the dropsies....He needs to perform better...Moulds clearly had the best day...

TE: IMO our TE's are our most set position on offense...as a group they outplayed every other position on our offense....Daniels looks like a keeper...Even Bruener had a TD....

Offense as a whole: Our offense might as well have stayed on the bus righ a long with the defense...don't let the final score fool you...two of those touchdowns were gimme's in garbage time....I think our offense definitely needs to play better...Our run blocking wasn't up to par...

DL: .....Our D-Line is....I am not exactly sure what to think about our D-Line....Everyone says Mario improved from last week..I didn't see it....Weaver played well...Babin and TJ played Well...Thomas Johnson played well...We don't have any consitency out of this bunch...TJ is good at making plays down the line...Payne needs to be replaced...Weaver is solid...Mario is Mario...

LB: This group is bad... Greenwood needs to be replaced next year....DeMeco is the best of the group...but he is still not a top notch MLB...He has some learning to do...He plays well against the run, but his pass coverage leaves a lot to be desired...At the same time though, his weaknesses wouldn't be so prevelant if he had two more talented LB's to play with instead of See and Saw....

DB: They are all horid....Our safeties are a joke...Our corners are the punch line...Sanders can't cover a marble with a quilt...All of them are pretty physical, and all of them are pretty good tacklers...But D-Rob is the best cover DB we have and that is a shame...D-Rob really let P-buch have it last year after his mistakes...I hope the favor is being returned...I look for a new FS, and CB on the field for us next year....

Defense as a whole: 43 points...enough said...

There isn't really one group to blame for this game...Our team is rebuilding like it or not....There wasn't any position who played extremely well...Everyone was pretty bad, and the score showed it...The coaches have some work to do as well...

Actually I didn't watch the entire game yesterday. I knew if there was one game I had to skip this season it was going to be this game. I knew we were going to get plastered and we did. And after watching the first possession of the game I knew I made the right choice. I got some work done and didn't have to witness the slaughtering. Anyway, DC had good numbers but it was against the second and third teamers from what I heard. I'm not going to loose hope because I know this thing is going to take time and I have a feeling that we're going to play much better in the second half of the season just because of all the changes we've made. I was very sad though to learn that Charles Spencer was lost for the season. It's never good when you loose your starting left tackle. Anyway, there's nothing else to do but keep chugging along and hope for better.

the texans have alot to work on. Carr need some protection so that he can throw the ball to Johnson and Moulds. What is the point of having two talented receivers and not throw them the ball, it is a waste of talent. These coaches need to get their stuff strait and make pass protection their number one priority and the pass rush their second priority because the secondary can't cover a damn thing.
The Texans administration has screwed up bad in the pass couple of years. they did away with some good defensive players and they have failed on building a good O-line.
