Game 13 Thread: Titans @ Texans

Good game Texan fans. I see why you guys want Carr gone. Dayne looks pretty good..

Yeah he was millimeters away from taking out another rookie the rest of the year. In terms of destruction...yeah he looks prety dang good. Now if he could unlesh that on the other team, we'd have something. There's a reason this guy keeps his bags packed.

Nice game thumb tacks. Great victory.

:hides:IT'S JUST A QUESTION:hides:IT'S JUST A QUESTION:hides:IT'S JUST A QUESTION:hides:

Please, NOBODY bite my head off!
I'm only asking a question...

From the nfl.com game stats, it doesn't look like we made any major mistakes. Looks like we made 2 sacks on VY. No int's from Carr. Demeco blew up AGAIN! The halftime show on cbs said that Young had a long run during OT to seal the deal. Is this all there was too it?

I see plenty of negative threads on the boards, so I'm not going there!

Just trying to figure out what happened?

Did we "lose a close one," did the Tacks "just win" or did we "beat ourselves" again?

NOT stirring up trouble!

Hook a brother in Montana up with a little analysis or game summary.

1 - We played a heck of a close game. We made a few mistakes on defense, but those mistakes cost us;
2 - Mario disappeared today. Too much Babins and too little Peak on the line;
3 - We went away from Ron Dayne and he had a fantastic first half. It was not that he dissapeared, but the game calling went away from him in the 2nd half. He had like 80 yards in the first half;
4 - Moulds caught a pass for about 2 yards and he threw (slammed) the ball down. Andre does the same thing a little later. What does this say? "Why the heck did he pass the ball to me for a short gain when I was running a checkoff route".
5 - With 1 minute to go, could we not work the sidelines for at least a 45 - 49 yard field goal attempt to end the game rather than take 3 knees? That shows a lack of confidence in your QB.
6 - Thus, everyone lacks confidence in our on-field leadership - including the coaching staff and the players. But they are all troppers. However, you will see some changes. We'll get them next year.

Good game guys, your defense scared me for 3 1/2 quarters. But never paniced knowing anything can happen with VY. Let's keep the rivelry up and both our teams get better soon. Tired of the Indy/Jags spoiling everything for us.

Good luck rest of the season

No one is putting the game all on Carr but here are the facts this far into his fifth season. With 3rd and 8 or whatever and a chance to go farther..not just take a FG to tie, the coach handed off. That right there shows their trust in Carr. He had two critical penalties(one that negated theirs) by going over the line of scrimmage. He still makes mistakes like not throwing it out of bounds. In general we don't have a QB that is a winner and who you say, "go win it for us." I'm not sure how else to put it.

I disagree... I mean he Carr had hold the ball longer and took a sack.. that would take you out of FG range.. If you throw a incomplete... you would as Kris Brown to kick a 52 yard FG and we cant trust Brown to do that... So i have to disagree with you on that play.

IMO, VY or any other QB is lucky not to play in Houston.. with this offense line, they can ruin a young qb like they did to Carr. I still think Carr is good enough for this team to win but as a team, they need to upgrade the entire team. You need more depth on the O-Line, so when you lose your Center, LT, RT... you dont start a small Center in Hodgins and a rookie in Winston.

You need a OLB and a 2nd CB. Faggins as a nickelback would be great. You need a FS because CC Brown still bites on play action plays (1st pass by VY, Brown got lucky Bennett drop it). You need a RG and maybe a LT (move Spencer to RT), you need a DT to be next to Travis Johnson,you need RB You might need a 3rd WR and you might need a QB...

There is one completely undeniable thing that can be said after watching the Texans behavior on this day and particularly in that final minute. Either Gary Kubiak has no idea what he's doing or he doesn't have even the slightest bit of faith in his QB. One of the two is without a doubt true.

Possibly both of them are true but it's far more likely that it's one or the other.

I'd add a 3rd possibility....Kubiak is a coward. Something has bugged me since the Miami game when Kubiak turned his back during Miami's two-point attempt and now I know what it is. He's afraid to face "what might happen" instead of believing in "what could be". His fear has to rub off on his players just as much as Young's confidence rubs on his teammates.

VY will probably become a really great QB in the future, mostly because he got the reigns of a NFL team early in his career. VY should have been drafted by Houston, and should have been the backup QB for this year. Next year VY should have become the Texans starting QB, and David Carr should be let go.

as for Mario Williams......

It was such an intense game. Poor David, he had to feel like hell when the opposing QB got more love than he ever has from Houston fans.
