Again, the Broncos lose the turnover battle, but beats the Panthers.

Cam don't look like he's having fun.
It's Cam time.
I am amazed that Carolina lost. There were moments when they simply looked unbeatable. 16-0 flashed through my head a couple times. But they lost. Wow.
Gano missing the FG to win it reminded me of the time we played the Redskins and when he missed it winning FG Andre Ware yelled 'Gano good'.Kubiak kept it easy for his rookie QB, kept pounding the ball, and playing solid defense.
Newton was locked on to KB and Olsen while forgetting about everyone else. Last year he distributed the ball so well, it made them tough to match up against. It's a given that once you beat up on Cam and he doesn't get calls, he's going to pout and ends up checking out. Rockets fans are all to familiar with that.
Overall, awesome game. Both teams had a chance to win it late.
Even with the kid at quarterback, Denver's offense looked a lot better against a great defense today than they looked all of last year. Clean up the turnovers and they might be an even better team this season, especially if they figure out how to get more push up the middle on defense.
Knowing how much Kubiak emphasizes protecting the football I bet those picks killed his soul and they'll be working overtime on cleaning that up.

maybe its just me, but what is all this botching about Cam Newton and the hits he was taking?
Exactly. The 1st one on the sandwich sack was discretionary and I thought the right call was made. The only reason there was helmet contact was because Cam sank over a foot when hit low in the back. Would have been totally clean if his head level hadn't gone down. That's a good no call to me.
