gabe hall OT TTech?

is this guy any good? he's rated in the top 10 at OT on nfldraftcountdown. former tight end and ran a 4.9 and measured at 6'4 313lbs. only 22 reps of 225 though, so maybe he might have to get stronger. can anyone from tech give a scouting report?

I've seen some things about this guy, and I've also seen some things about
Doug Free from Norhtern IL.
I dunno, but one of these guys or another like them could be the kind of OT the Texans will take instead of Levi Brown or Joe Staley. They may not think Browm is worth their first round pick, and Staley may very well be off the Board before the Texans #2. They need to draft a OT.
Besides that's the Denver way of acquiring OLineman in the Draft to a great extent.

Gabe was a two year starter at Texas Tech. He is quick and athletic but as his reps show he lacks strength. I watched every game he played and he played well but I never really thought of him as someone who would make an impact in the NFL. I wouldn't draft him before the 6th round or so but I wish him the best of luck.

While we are on the Texas Tech subject I think we should take a good look at G Manuel Ramirez. I know we need an OT but I really like this kid. He was named the starter just two games into his freshman season and started every game after that. Was a team captain his senior (and maybe his junior year, not sure off the top of my head) season.

He has tremendous size and strength 6'3 326.
Put up 40 reps of 225 which tied Justin Blalock for best at the combine.
Also set the school record for bench press with 550 pounds.

He might be too slow to play in the zone blocking system, but I think someone is going to be very lucky to have the guy.

That's an awful avatar you have.

Don't know if he was injured, but he didn't run at the Combine, which is not a good sign. He probably is too slow for the ZB system.

Now Gabe Hall, that's just the kind of O-lineman that would fit the ZB system if he has quick feet. They don't need the upper body strength as much with the ZB, but they can't be total weaklings either. Ideally, you want them to be quick and strong, but they have to have the quickness first. JMHO!

Whatever happened to Dwayne Slay from TT? My friends and I were watching some of his highlights from last year today.
Chicago's practice squad I think. He could hit, but he fit the tweener role and need more speed to be a SS, and more weight to be a LB. He made the games that much more fun to go to knowing hell was coming to someone on the other team.

I liked him most because he destroyed K-state by himself.

I would have made him into a situational OLB and told him to just "kill the ball". I would tell him, "I don't care who is holding it, or what you have to do. Kill."

kind of off the subject but snce we are talking about TT prospects has anybody heard anything about the LT Glen January from Tech. 6'7 325lbs. Just wondering what his situation was

He was predicted to be a first day pick then ran a 4.85 at the combine last year. When someone asked a scout if he could move to OLB they said he was too slow to even play that. Although, the bears have moved him to a linebacker on the practice squad.

January is coming back for his senior season. It seems like January's name is always being called for the wrong reasons. If you watched the Tech ATM game this year, on the game winning touchdown pass January let the blitzing LB right by him without a chip or anything. If RB Shannon Woods didn't make an amazing block we probably would have lost the game. This is just one instance, but believe me there were plenty.

My bad I thought January was a junior. He will be gone this year and good riddance.
