GA Tech loses 2009 ACC title and fined $100,000

One Yellow Jacket from that team has written a letter to the NCAA on Facebook:

Dear NCAA,

Thank you for handing down penalties that only adversely affect the players who did things the right way. This reeks of an organization desperate to prove that it has some sort of control over its member institutions despite lacking the ability and firepower to police the serious offenders and protect the student-athletes whose interests you purport to have at heart.

More at the link.

It took 2 yrs. to investigate a $312 clothing violation? The NCAA is a joke when it comes to football program investigations. If the NCAA wants to be taken seriously then they need to start investigating the big programs with serious allegations and in a timely manner, not years after the student athlete and coach have left the program.

This is the kind of stuff I wish they would just let go. $312 is nothing in the grand scheme of things, nowhere near the value of cars, housing for family members or selling scores of memorabilia.

$312 in clothing....what no "Death Penalty"?

This is more about the NCAA feeling they were disrespected during the process than the infraction itself. F---k 'em.
