Further proof

All Pro
In the same vein as the recent Vince Young support posts, I have decided to post the most damning stat on why we dont want Vince Young.

Am I going to compare his college stats to some other prominent QB? no.

Am I going to cite all the running backs drafted in the first round that were busts? no.

Here is all the proof you need.

Number of Quarterbacks in the hall of fame with a first name that starts with the letter V: 0

Number of Quarterbacks with a name that starts with the letter V that have played in the superbowl: 0

Dont draft Vince Young. We will never win with a "V" running the team.

(quit posting numbers that suit your needs. Stats can be twisted to serve any purpose)

Barry Sanders in College: 7.6 ypc
Reggie Bush in College: 8.7 ypc

thats right...Reggie Bush is going to be BETTER than Barry Sanders. :brickwall

Very good post..... hopefully this will stop some of this Vince Young non-sense.

As a side not, I'll carry your argument out.

We never should have picked up that extension.

It's one thing to argue that a top QB prospect with more rushing yards than a top RB prospect would be a better pick for our team. You have to admit that it's kind of odd.

Arguing about the letters in their name............ well, if that's how you pick your players, go for it.

You are skewing the stats yourself by only looking at them from one angle. I suggest you look at the careers of QBs with the last name "Young". VY is multi-faceted - he has a first name and a last name. :)

Yes, but remember that Bush is somehow related to the President of our great country (nephew through ex-wife or something like that--it had to be Jeb), so that has to count for something. :ok: Plus, his first name is like a great baseball player and Bush sounds like a beer (a beverage that some football fans are fond of) and, most of all, men tend to be fond of that word anyway (for some reason). :)

Wait until the first time he gets laid out by a linebacker. I can hear the announcer already - "Bush got waxed".

I like Reggie Bush but you are saying Vince Young will never lead a team to the Superbowl because of his first name? That's the craziest reason why we shouldn't draft him. Now Reggie Bush is good and could be the next Barry Sanders, but that doesn't mean Vince is going to be a bad NFL player and that he can't win games for us.

Seriously though we need to find more guys with the names Montana and Elway. Hell at this point we'd even settle for a Johnson. You are dead on Grid, I always had that feeling about Carr and couldn't find the words for it until now.

Don't feel bad Runner, Spock never really understood humor either... lol

It seems alot of posters around here don't get that something is a joke without smilies attached. :) :yahoo: :neener: :sarcasm:

It's not funny anymore if you have to explain it.
