Funny how everyone jumped on VY bandwagon after yesterday

Well not everyone, but you get my point. Where were all you Vince Young lovers after the Big 12 Championship game? After the college regular season ended? And why did everyone jump off the Reggie Bush bandwagon after yesterday's "sub-par" game?

For the record, I don't want Vince Young. We don't need another rookie QB here. That would just make us take a few steps back.

Another question for you brand new Young lovers, what if VY decides to stay at Texas? Will you jump back on the Bush bandwagon?

Im on the trade down/D'Brickishaw Ferguson bandwagon and probably the only one, but Vince isnt what we need. We've allready come this far, we dont need to start over with a QB who needs to stay one more year.

After reggie looked like a man among boys all season, he finally met a good defense and didnt live up to half the hype. I couldnt imagine him going up against a colts or jags defense. Carr plays like a rookie so why not get a rookie who is a homegrown hero, and is argued to be the best QB in UT history. Take VY first overall. No question. Tauren Henderson looked better than bush against a top defense.

WOW. Lots of them in the pros lately?

If VY comes out you take him and draft two OL with the second and third and get Lecharles bentley in FA. If he doesn't then im cool with either trading down and getting more picks or taking bush you can't really lose.

to the above poster about Taurean Henderson,
Bush didn't do as well because the UT defense was keyed on him more so than the other players (see LenDale White). Taurean did better because the UT defense was keyed on Cody Hodges (TTech QB) than on him. They were concentrating on the Tech pass offense than the Tech rush offense.

That being said, I thought Bush looked good despite the obvious spying on him.

It was the interview that did it. Not the performance. There have been a lot of people who would love to have Young here. But he's always said he would stay at Texas. During one of the interviews after the game, his diction stopped sounding so stalwart on that issue. Like he wanted to talk to his parents and see what was best.

Personally, I think he should go pro. The risk is not worth the wait. He'll go to one of the first three teams. If not the Texans, then the Jets/Saints would love to have a solid QB.

There aren't many steps back from Carr.

Whay can't everyone just wait to see what any of the underclassmen say on the 15th and then wait even more unitl the draft.

one of them is playing for a playoff team...cough...chris simms....cough:redtowel:

This is your example of a great ex-longhorn qb in the pros?..:redtowel:

I'll play, name another great ex longhorn qb who did great in the pros, say in the last forty years.

I know the difference between being a great college qb and a great pro qb. We are discussing pro qb's aren't we?

Young is a great college qb. Young = Matt Jones in the pros.

You guys keep mentioning starting over....HELLO...We won 2 games, we started starting over when the clock hit 0:00 after the San Fran game...

I'd really like us to draft Reggie, but if it was between draft Vince or trade down, I would trade down.

Quarterback is the least of our worries right now. If we drafted Vince it would be the result of unbelievable pressure from Longhorn fans.

If the tables were turned in the game last night between Reggie and Vince we would be hearing about how that was only a college defense and how it is nothing special because Texas has struggled against the run.

Should have started over after last years Browns game.

I don't understand your logic...You say QB is the least of our worries so don't draft vince...And RB is ? I think...I'm not sure though...but I think our running game has been more productive than our passing game...Please explain your logic...

And I'm not really sure what you are reffering to when you say if the tables were turned...?

At least with Reggie he is going to fill some holes at receiver and will lighten the load that Dom carries. Vince is either going to sit behind David Carr, which means he has no value to the team next year, or he is going to replace David Carr, which means that he is going to be a typical rookie quarterback (raw, makes dumb decisions, and overmatched). That will result in a step back for the team.

The "if the tables were turned" remark means that if Reggie had an unbelievably good game and Vince had one of his average games, then people who were anti Reggie Bush would make excuses for his success and how it won't relate to the NFL.

You are right about the "if the tables were turned" comment, but I disagree with you saying that we "need" Bush more than young...The reason I say this is because I personally don't think D.Carr is the type of quaterback that can grab a team and lead it...I believe that wherever vince young is he will be the leader of that team...And that is something that the texans seriously have a lack in, and that is leadership...And you can't say that he will come in and be your typical rookie because there is always an exception...Look at big Ben...And so what if he does come in and have a bad first year...We cant take too many steps back from winning 2 games, and I believe that next yr, we'll win more than that no matter who is at the helms...

How do we know if Carr can lead a team or not if the coaching staff wouldn't give him the chance? He was allowed to lead the team for one half this entire season and he scored 24 points.

Calling your own plays doesn't constitute "Leading"...VY doesn't call the plays, yet he leads... And I am tired of people using a one time thing and acting like it was the norm throughout the season...I don't know what the cardinals defensive stats were like, but my bet is they weren't at the top of the leauge...Look he did it one time...whoop tee doo... DC's body language sucks, I don't hear alot of his team defending him in the media, and it's obviuos the o-lineman aren't his biggest fans... Who on the team is rallying behind him?
