I've seen a lot of mixed feelings on this site, pitting hope against despair. I am Bengals fan and I come from a long line of losers. I KNOW about losing. I know what true losers look like. I've seen so-called star players walk off the field and refuse to play. I've seen bizarre methods to lose in every way. I've seen players pulling the head coachs cap down over their face to disrespect them. I've seen "Mike Brown is a clown!" signs lowered down right in front of the owner's luxury seat. In Cincinnati, it got so bad that we real fans HAD to root for the team to break down to the utter rock bottom so that they could be rebuilt from scratch. In 2002, I remember the disappointment of getting our first win in week 8 against your Texans after 7 straight losses. Never the less, we won only 2 games that entire year and thus had the collapse we needed that resulted in our resurrection with Marvin Lewis. So I do accept that there is a time to pull the plug.
Having said that, I'm not sure this Texan team is down there yet. The Texan team I saw on Sunday was a team with some fight in them, unlike previous Bengals losers I have witnessed. Houston lost a close game (that was poorly officiated) on the road to a now 4-0 pretty decent football team. I'm not sure I'd pull the plug on your Texans just yet.
Sincerely,
Bengals Fan
