From a Bengals fan who KNOWS about losing!!!

I've seen a lot of mixed feelings on this site, pitting hope against despair. I am Bengals fan and I come from a long line of losers. I KNOW about losing. I know what true losers look like. I've seen so-called star players walk off the field and refuse to play. I've seen bizarre methods to lose in every way. I've seen players pulling the head coach’s cap down over their face to disrespect them. I've seen "Mike Brown is a clown!" signs lowered down right in front of the owner's luxury seat. In Cincinnati, it got so bad that we real fans HAD to root for the team to break down to the utter rock bottom so that they could be rebuilt from scratch. In 2002, I remember the disappointment of getting our first win in week 8 against your Texans after 7 straight losses. Never the less, we won only 2 games that entire year and thus had the collapse we needed that resulted in our resurrection with Marvin Lewis. So I do accept that there is a time to pull the plug.

Having said that, I'm not sure this Texan team is down there yet. The Texan team I saw on Sunday was a team with some fight in them, unlike previous Bengals losers I have witnessed. Houston lost a close game (that was poorly officiated) on the road to a now 4-0 pretty decent football team. I'm not sure I'd pull the plug on your Texans just yet.

Sincerely,
Bengals Fan

cosmocon, you're definately right. You guys up there have endured many horrible seasons. So much that it would be hard for a lot of our fans around here to stomach, especially for that long.

Thumbs up to you and the other Bengals fans like you for riding it out. Now you have something to be proud of, so make the most out of it and have lots of fun.

We deserve to complain about our team, but I think people need to keep to a minimum. I believe things will be done sooner or later. I feel McNair is a good owner (hasn't proven otherwise so far) and will make good decisions. We don't need an impulsive owner like they have in DC.

I think everyone in the NFL knew that if Dom didn't equal or better the record from last year his job was in jeopardy. To me, that is still the case. We'll see at the end of the year.

I definitely will not pull the plug on the Texans. I am originally from Louisiana and was a Saints fan for 30+ years. Yep, I have an Archie Manning jersey.
A true fan sticks with his team through thick and thin. We have a 3 great things in Houston, Texans-Astros-Rockets. I have been a football fan all my life and will continue to be whatever happens to the Texans.

I have been through this :bag: before. I won't don this gear no matter how the Texans fare!

Yeah, we probably stomached our situation for too long in Cincy. Only the Arizona Cardinals could rival the Bengals in futility during that 12 or so year stretch.

P.S. Go Stros!
(Me no like Braves, Cards, Yanks or BoSox.)
