Free Agents I like

I am hoping we concentrate on defense in the draft and go for off offense in FA. Our first year we drafted offense and brought in defense now we should do the opposite and even things out talent and youth wise.

LT Jonnas Jennings-was a starter in Buffalo who protected Bledsol's blind side
RB Chris (funny last name can't spell) from Jacksonville who ran over us. Capers wants a bruiser
WR James Thrash-complimentary #2 WR to help take pressure off of AJ, also a class act guy on and off the field
TE Anthony Becht is a good young TE that is a good all around player that can block and catch.
DB Jarrod Cooper-grew up in near by Pearland and is a special teams stand out and back-up DB

I like Pat Williams DT from the Bills or Chis Hovan of the Vikes for NT

I also would like any Broncos OL. We also need a veteran QB other than Banks.

(you do not want this guy)

(If you are looking for a WR, this is one of the worst options)

(great player)

(special teams standout and back-up DB ....sweet)

Texansalltheway. I believe you are talking about Chris Fatumalafala. Although he is an excellent runner and a bruiser he has problems with injuries.

Are you serious??? Thats the same WR that couldnt make the Eagles team over Todd Pinkston and Freddie Mitchell. I dont remember when he was a complimetary #2, plus Gaff has that job locked up. Gaff did have 632 yards recieving and averaged more yards a catch then AJ, and thats with getting no looks for several games because Carr couldnt buy time and would make Davis the #2 WR...

LT Jonnas Jennings-was a starter in Buffalo who protected Bledsol's blind side
..... How much time did Bledsoe spend on his BACKSIDE with this guy protecting his BLINDSIDE ? ..... TOO MUCH

James Thrash ? ..... err James Trash ? ...... Bad Option . Couldnt catch

Chris Fatumalafala Powerful runner between the tackles but no break away speed and health is kinda questionable . Sounds like J. Wells to me .

Anthony Becht .... Ill takem if the price is right . Lord knows we need a Complete TE , not TWO who come in and tip off the play .... ITS A RUN ..... ITS A PASS ....

Jarrod Cooper .... almost makes sense , the Texans could use a BIGGER corner . just not sure this guy has the cover skills to beat Faggins or Wright out for the job .

Wells has no trade value, because teams in the NFL dont trade for unproven talent except in rare occasions, and its more often than not quarterbacks.

Here are some free agents i'd look at...

RB Anthony Thomas ... Bears... 6'2 225lbs... 27 years old... The "A" Train has two 1,000 yard seasons, and would be a change of pace from the smaller DD... could come cheap since he only ran for 404 yards. Former 2nd round pick in 2001.

TE Bubba Franks Packers... 6'6 265...26 years old.... Better blocker and pass catcher than anyone else we have at the position. Only lacks elite TE speed, but makes up for it with good hands in the end zone.

LT Walter Jones Seahawks 6'5 315lbs 30 years old.... Best free agent tackle to hit open market in years unless he gets tagged again.

TE Itula Mili Seahawks ...6'4 250lbs 31 years old.... stop gap TE that can catch and block.

RB Ron Dayne Giants 5'10 245lbs 26 years old... Hasn't done alot in NY, is a big back that Capers likes, if he comes dirt cheap why not.

TE Anthony Becht Jets 6'5 272lbs 27 years old... Come on we need a better TE from somewhere, Becht can do it all.

ILB Edgerton Hartwell Ravens 6'1 250lbs 26 years old... Very underrated playing next to Ray Lewis...

DT Kendrick Clancy Steelers 6'1 305lbs 26 years old... Could be a good replacement for Seth Payne.

I think so LT,besides, even if they didn't,B-More wouldn't let him go.

LOL @ texansalltheway...i'm supposed to be on point with fellow Texans fans, but um..u need to think about that James Thrash thing man.

I like Bubba Franks,he'd be nice for us.
Plaxico Burress (so what if we can't get him,I'll still think about a AJ/Plax duo :heh: )
Walter Jones (come on now,we have NO O-line)
Marco Rivera (see last comment...plus he knows the zone blocking scheme)
Lamont Jordan (would be nice with DomD,change of pace kind of back)
Anthony Thomas (last comment)
Kendrell Bell (He would be good, but I dunno, cuz hes a bit overrated)

No they did not. Hartwell is an UFA. Doubt the Ravens let him go though.

Kendrell Bell may very well be allowed to test the market though and his value will be down some from not having played significantly this year.

I think if Walter Jones goes to FA, the Texans should make a serious bid on him. He can shut down a DE.

I saw a story on Plax once, and his mother dropped a classic line. "I only know two things: I will always be black, I will always be female, and Plaxico Burress can catch a football." :um:

jones will get tagged and will hold out the entire pre-season like he has done the last few years. if you could hang out for six weeks and then come back for the season opener and dominate, wouldn't you do the same thing? but i guess if he gets the big deal he is looking for from the seahawks or another team, that might be a thing of the past. i believe he is represented by the poston clan, so signing him might be a great chore.

It is highly unlikely the Ravens re-sign Hartwell. Hartwell will ask for too much money and the Ravens have other positions they need to spend their money on. The Ravens will find someone in the draft to replace Hartwell just like they did when we took Sharper from them.

I guess the 3rd one isnt true then.

I think Vick said something along the lines of "I have two weapons: my legs, my arm and my brain." :hmmm:

Our chief weapon is surprise...surprise and fear...fear and surprise....
Our two weapons are fear and surprise...and ruthless efficiency....
Our *three* weapons are fear, surprise, and ruthless efficiency...and an almost fanatical devotion to the Pope....
Our *four*...no... *Amongst* our weapons.... Amongst our weaponry...are such elements as fear, surprise.... I'll come in again.

The Ravens have been reported to be considering switching to a 4-3. That may in part be in anticipation of losing Hartwell.

I think that the Texans should make two big FA's signings like last year and they should be both on the Defense. The two players I have in mind are Hartwell (whom everyone has been talking about on this post) and Corey Simon for our D-Line. Simon is a 4 year vet and is still young with many years left under his belt.

Hartwell might also be let go because the Raven might use the 4-3 more.

The Ravens use the 4-3 about 80% of the time. They usually have one of their OLBs playing on the line. 3-4 personnel, but 4-3 package.

Marques Douglas, the Ravens RDE, is a free agent. They drafted Dwan Edwards last year to eventually take his spot. I wouldnt mind the Texans signing Douglas and moving Robaire Smith to NT.
