foreman's trade value

powda

The bridge between stupid and useless is short.
with the news of sharper being given permission to seek a trade it seems everyone has forgotten about foreman. what can we get for him? how does his contract effect the chance to trade him?

i'd say hes worth a 4th rd pick.

He's not worth more than a 6th - 7th. A team taking on his contract (he is overpaid) would likely argue that a 7th is too high. ;)

What about his value though to a team like Dallas who needs experienced 3-4 starters in some spots? I am not saying they would give us something crazy for Foreman or Sharper, but wouldn't they be at least a little more valuable to a team like that?

see that was my thinking on the matter....more teams switching to a 3-4 defense increases foreman's value. perhaps not as high as a 4 but then i look to the gerald warren trade....hes done squat. at least foreman has been relativley productive here. warren was just traded for a 4.

I could see us getting a 5th for him. Anything more than that is awesome.. anything less than that is "eh, at least we got something"

Warren was a top first round pick pick though, and is still pretty young. Foreman was a 5th round pick who hasn't played really well the last couple of years. You could be right though. I just don't think he has too much value.

i think i'll agree with grid on this one...a 5 should be reasonable. at any rate i think foreman's done with this team. if we cant move him we'll cut him.

Foreman looked slow against TE last year. He will not go for much....

Not all teams will ask him to cover TEs, but still, he isn't exactly a hot commodity out there. A 7th would be preferable to outright releasing him though.

foreman + a case of cold beer and a box of cuban cigars for the last pick in the draft sounds fair to me . sure he makes a lot of tackles but the majority of those tackles are 5+ yards oast the line of scrimage

gerald warren was a 4. hes done nothing.

greg randall was a 5. hes done nothing.

drew henson was a 3. he'd done nothing in what 4 years? and only played 8 college games.

i'd say a 5 is reasonable especially for a team looking to switch over to a 3-4 defense this year. my question is what is his salary and what impact will that have?

someone might give a 6th but most teams would rather draft someone than take our castoffs. a starter on one of the worst teams in the league.

Absolutely...couldn't agree more.
