For all of you harping on VY's passer rating for this year

Yeah, he's 'only' #3. :rolleyes:

Do you really think people were using his "#1 Passer Efficiency" rating as justification of his passing abilities? Do you think that since he didn't finish #1 that they're no longer justified?
 
If you look at VY's passer rating by NFL standards it is pretty average, because as a passer that is what he is. He is an athlete, more adept at passing that Vick, but not as good as even Carr. VY is the second coming of Randall Cunningham.
 
Young however has progressed from one year to the next and has the big game moniker on him. Those are two of his biggest assets for the NFL.

And that's a bad thing? Cunningham was voted MVP...

Randall Cunningham won 3 MVPs (unofficially). And Cunningham was never the leader that Vince is.

That's funny. In a down year Vick passed for more yards per game than Carr.

Well you tried to argue my post or something let's look at your Vick vs Carr whatever. Vick passer ratiing was 73.1 vs Carr's 77.2 Carr also threw for more yards and less interceptions. OK you may argue Vick played less games, well Carr played with a worse team. So I would guess it is a push. Anyother arguments you can think of I have the stats to refute them.

There are many on this board, including mods, that were using this as a justification of Vince's abilities. I just get tired of people not having their facts straight.

As I mentioned in my earlier posts, Young made huge strides this year. I was skeptical in August, but that went away as the season went along.

I was recently informed that Randall Cunningham has never won an MVP award officially. I know that I have stated it on the board and others. If they got it from me I am sorry because I was uninformed. I heard he had won before by a former NFL QB and it seems I was ignorant in believing that. Thanx Mork for clarifying that for me.
 
Vick had like a 180 passer rating in college...just goes to show passer rating in college is total crap when translating to the nfl.

I remember those using that as justification...I was one of them. And back when we were saying it, it was true. The ratings you pulled up are after the bowl games were played. So at the time, our facts were straight.

Just saying that finishing 3rd when you're talking about over 117 QBs should be proof enough to anybody that his passing abilities are better than what many are willing to admit.
