Florida boots Janoris Jenkins from team

Tx Longhorn

Practice Squad
Not long ago, Jenkins was tabbed a potential first round talent. Then he went back to Florida and passed on declaring for the draft.. Now, a few months later and just days before the draft, Jenkins has been booted from the team by Florida coach Will Muschamp for off-field issues.

Jenkins, one of the top cover CB in the SEC, was booted from the team after his third arrest in less than two years, his second in the past four months. Jenkins was charged with marijuana possession Saturday. He likely will enter the NFL supplement draft.

Props to Muschamp for booting a guy that is by far the team's best player.

This guy must be hanging with Will Hill too much. What a stupid way to cost yourself millions of dollars.

Think anybody will use a 1st rounder on him in the supplemental draft? It's a big time risk and I wouldn't do it but this guy would be a top 15 pick if he were in the draft.

The supplemental draft is always so interesting to me. Normally reserved for players that have some sort of issues surrounding them (usually academic). I'd love to talk to someone in an NFL front office and get some of their thoughts on it.

Remember Jared Gaither? He was a stud LT and went in the 5th round in the supplemental draft. Who knows about Jenkins but he's extremely talented. A guy who would be 1st or 2nd round at the latest next year but may got 3rd/4th round in the supplemental?? lol - I really want to know how teams think of this.

i would simply b/c short of him being an UDFA like Foster, it is the definition of low risk high reward. Had he come out in this draft he'd be at worst a late 1st round pick.

Could him getting kicked off the team & costing himself millions have awakened him from a maturity standpoint? Maybe, maybe not...either way you're not investing a whole lot in him so take a shot.

How is the supplemental draft going to work this year? I hear the rumors about the draft next year being up in the air and teams may be unwilling to take on future picks in draft day trades. What about the supplemental? You're basically selecting a guy for your team this year but with a future pick... in a draft that may or may not happen. Wouldn't that be nice. lol

Does anyone really think we will bid on a player kicked off his college team?

He will be a Jet or Raven.

In the supplemental draft? I would hope we do. That said, I have little faith it will happen.

Whats the worst that can happen, we gotta cut him? Worth the risk, especially if the rest of the team is full of character guys who can be a good influence.

whats the worst thing that happens you spend a 4/5 round pick next year on a guy that should be a 1st. worst thing that happens you cut him i think this should be a no brainer
