Firing everyone NOW will make the OL better . . HOW?

Seriously . . other than just appeasing the fans . . what is firing everyone going to do to improve the play of the offensive line.

Is it going to make Victor Riley any better? Is it going to make Todd Wade any better? Is it going to make Steve McKinney play harder. Is it going to give David Carr more time to throw?

Firing everyone NOW during the middle of the season will only do one thing. It will make the fans feel better . . . and that would be the wrong reason for doing it.

From the Chronicle
Texans owner Bob McNair was asked if general manager Charley Casserly and coach Dom Capers should be worried about their jobs.
"I don't think that would improve anything," he said. "I'm committed to winning, and they are, too.

"I'm part of this team, and I take responsibility. I don't point fingers, and I don't want anyone else to point fingers, either."

Got that? :)

Then he should get his butt fired too! Something has to be done, and something is better than nothing.

I agree that you do not want finger pointing, but at least start chopping off some fingers if they do not produce. Outside of Dunta and our kickers where in the heck is the fire?

Again . . you guys are proving my point. It's all about making YOU (the fan) feel better.

Grow a set and fess up and admit it. :challenge

I think I have given several good reasons why the coach should no longer be here.
You have given several good reasons why the coach should no longer be here after the season is over.

You haven't given me one good reason for keeping him.
Yes I have. There is nobody to replace him with that would make any difference.

And that analogy you gave was stupid. Unless you want Bob McNair himself to be the head coach.

Honestly Marcus, I'm willing to wait for the end of the season. I have no illusions that kicking Capers out will change anything in the short term. IMO the wrong coach was sent packing three weeks ago and since they've already fired Palmer I see no point in wrapping up the season with Fangio or Pendry as our head coach.

From my "Fire Capers" position I have nothing to fear from letting the man finish out the 2005 season. He's not going to turn this thing around so the end result will not change.

NFL coaching changes aren't the same as real world employee & manager changes. Good employees & managers can be hired away from other companies. It happens all the time. That isn't allowed during the season in the NFL. You either have to have someone on the staff already capable to perform the job (like Pendry coming in for Palmer) or you wait until the end of the season.
