Exactly. We are back to the prime Schaub days. Top 5 offense, bottom 5 defense. Lucky for us Luck retired and Foles is on IR. Other team's misfortunes may net us yet another division title!

Not a top 5 offense. Had 21 points with a minute left. Same old offense. 6 sacks.

Yeah we could've used Clowneys help for sure. But we would have recieve the same fate/results.

He should've known all they needed was 7 yards. So why in hell are your corners 12 yards back. Why are you only rushing 2 freaking d-linemen?

Romeo crennel does not deserve enough criticism. Top 5 front 7 for years and we rush 3/4 all night. Pitiful. Drew is not a rookie, you’re not disgusting coverages against him.

That's why you have to bring some heat. Don't let him pick you apart like that. Even with those top defenses. They still gave up a lot of game winning drives. Pitiful

I never had a problem playing off the receiver. It's part of the game. I just don't like the way they play off the receiver.

They've got to watch the QB, anticipate the throw then drive on the ball through the receiver. Make him regret catching that ball, if he catches it.

Colvin plays like a guy who is slow . He creeps back , opens up , then realizes they only needed 10 yards .

I think one of the big problems with the defensive backfield is they have very little time playing together. Unfortunately starters play very little in preseason any more. Right now they are playing as individuals and not as a unit. Until that changes, we are going to have problems

QBs to make mistakes. You make them make mistakes.
We have a QB that can play with the best of them. Defense should be all out after the QB trying to force mistakes and create turnovers.

We rushed three 16 times and brees was 13 of 16 and 6 for 6 on third down.
We played soft the second half and they scored on 5 of 6 possessions.
This is Crennels biggest weakness. This bend don’t break defense just
doesn’t work against elite QBs. If he can’t adjust he needs to go.

Maybe, but we don't really have anyone else who can rush the passer. And the secondary needs all the help it can get.

I don't think anything can work without the horses. There's only so much scheme you can do to cover up big holes.

Take chances, Disguise ****, move people around pre snap, force the offense to read and react, IDGAF just don’t play soft off man zone coverage with straight up man in the trenches hoping to not give up a big play. Im comfortable saying we have an elite QB now. He’ll most likely keep you in the game so better to play aggressively and hope for turnovers or big plays than sit back and let these other elites just eat you alive and wear your defense down with long time consuming drives.

I think it was both. Yeah we had our true starter at LG out (Kelemete) sucks)and a new LT with no playing time starting an away game in a really noisy environment and they were sending lots of players from lots of angles. If we had done that we would of probably won.

Fair enough let's try it. Maybe Martin can rush more (although he gets destroyed in the run).

Hopefully it doesn't result in bombs against the secondary

Exactly. Breeze is very good but he can be rattled in the pocket.

It was some of both. The Saints mixed it perfectly. They didn't just sit back and let Watson pick them apart. They made him work unlike what we did.

And here I thought I was the only one with this conspiracy theory.

I fear O'Brien is falling into the trap that got Kubiak. He's so focused on building the offense, he's short-changing the defense. It's relatively solid but the GM needs to find another real pass rush threat.
...or get better at DB.
