Since the draft is 2 weeks away, and the pro days are starting to wrap up, I jus thought I would throw out my top small school players by round. The players in bold are my personal favorites. I would be happy to explain any of my choices if necessary.

What do you know about Bernadeau, the Guard from Bentley. The Eagles brought him into Philly for a private workout after working him out at Bentley.
 
He would be a nice pickup in the 7th. Good size, 6'4" 300lbs or so. Nothing really stands out about him. Average strentgh, average speed. Just seems to get the job done.
 
My Favorite 10 for the Texans

1) CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, Tennessee State
This is a no brainer. Superb athlete that fills a need for the Texans. Has 4.3 speed, and his incredible agility. DRC is also a playmaker in the secondary. The only problems are that he is raw, and he might not be there at 18. He would start the season as the nickel corner, then probably by week 4 move to the #2 spot.

2) DE Brian Johnston, Gardner-Webb
Johnston is another phenomenal athlete. His 10 yard split was equal to McFadden’s. When you take that with his size (6’5” 280 lbs) and his strength, that is a good DE to put opposite Mario.

3) OT Thaddeus Coleman, Mississippi Valley State
Coleman would be a project OT. He is a monster, 6’8” and 308 lbs. He has the mean streak to match, although he does go a bit over the top. He has long arms for the position. His 40 time could be better, but for an OL its not too bad.

4) FS Corey Lynch, Appalachian State
Another playmaker in the secondary, with 24 picks over his career. Solid tackler with a knack for blocking kicks. He also tested better than I anticipated, 4.58 40 and a 6.71 4 cone. He is a very smart player.

5) DE Rudolph Hardie, Howard
Hardie slipped in my rankings during the season, but he still has the tools and stats. Around 6’2” and 270 lbs, he runs just below a 4.8. He does get a nice burst off the line however, as shown by his 9.5 sacks this year and 24 TFL.

6) OG Mackenzy Bernadeau, Bentley
I don’t know what it is. Bernadeau has average speed coupled with average strength. However, he has constantly been among with best D2 lineman. He is just one of those players who does his job.

7) OLB Andy Studebaker, Wheaton
Studebaker is an athlete. You would probably have heard more about him if he had not injured his foot during the season, and need surgery to fix it. However, in 12 games he put up 17.5 sacks and 24.5 TFL. He runs in the high 4.4’s.

8) ILB Joe Mays, North Dakota State
Mays plays hard. He lacks measurables, and that is what is probably gonna keep him out of the draft. He is short, around 5’10”, but built at 245 lbs. His speed is lacking, around a 4.7-4.8. He just flat out plays well. Loves to hit, he would contribute on special teams right away.

9) RB Danny Woodhead, Chadron State
Here is some love for the career rushing leader. Fast but small. He does have decent thickness for his height. He is a very strong player, not only in his legs but in his upper body (20 reps). He is explosive, as shown by his 38” vertical, 10’01” broad jump and 1.44 10 yard. There are reasons why he set the record.

10) WR Weston Dressler, North Dakota
Dressler is another small guy. He holds almost all receiving records at UND. He returns kicks and punts. He is not a burner (4.44), but he is shifty. He also has a great set of hands. To me, he looks like a poor man’s Wes Welker.
