Fiesta Bowl 2014 Thread

Division Champ
Ok, who's watching the game? Let's discuss the guy who rhymes with Shlake Shortles and other potential draftees here.

I'm in. Kinda excited, according to some we have 2 of the best QBs going at it, hoping for a good game. (Deep down I think Baylor steamrolls)

I have been disappointed in Petty this year. Though I have only watched him twice. Bortles has impressed me. I still think Baylor blows them out.

Baylor helmets are badass, could UCF argue they are distracting?

The other two games I focused on Bortles did nothing for me. Hope to see a different player tonight. I just don't want my QB running if he does not have to.

Call me antiquated, but I wish we could see more under center QB play. Gives you a much better indication of footwork and mechanics IMO. Spread is fun and all, in the NFL it has been neutralized already.

Petty not showing much elusive ability on that one. Guy is Scott free, you gotta see him and throw it away at the least.

Baylor Tight End #18 Jordan Najvar is my banker's son. When I watched him this year he looks like a great blocker, doesn't get thrown to much, has great measurables. Would love to see him step up and get an NFL opportunity.

Awesome throw while taking a hit. That's what I like to see. Making the plays within the system instead of giving up early to make some "amazing" play.

TB really suffers having to rely on the #2 D.

Huh? Whether you're being sarcastic or not jot sure what to make out of your comment. Do you disagree and state Bridgewater has more talent than Bortles around him?

In that way, Bridgewater gives a cleaner for scouts since basically, Louisville ran a version of a pro WCO offense.

Still, UCF runs enough from under center and in a given week, many "pro" teams now run 50-60 percent of the plays from some version of the shotgun/spread anyways.

True.

First play from under center Bortles throws a bad pass. Good dropback, and sidestep from the pressure, but he just chucked it.

I was thinking lynch (the heisman finalist) could be his Wes welker or woodhead.

Lynch will get good looks during the combine and senior bowl at different positions I'm sure. Lache is probably going to go mid 2nd round to mid 3rd if I had to guess. Lache has a lot more quickness and change of direction ability, but I don't know value wise if he's worth it given where he's expected to go.

i wish UCF would throw more instead of running all these option runs....for this board's sake at least.
