FB Rock Cartwright

BlueThunder

Waterboy
I was wondering if someone could give me some correct info on this guy.He plays for Washington Redskins and is listed at 5'7" 225 but seams that I remember him being short but a major load.He comes from K-State and blocked for Darren Sproles.

I was wonder if someone could give me the data and/or any info you have on him?

Try google sometime--it is your friend. NFL.com, SI, Foxsports and Yahoo all have player info. For example from NFL.com--lists Rock at 5' 7" 215 lbs.

he might be better than Moran Norris

it'd be pretty hard not to be IMO. he looks like he plays with his eyes closed, running into our linemen more often than defenders.

the skins site lists rock at 5'7" 223 and describes him mainly as a special teamer, blocking back as needed, and short yardage guy until portis took over (not listed as a FB, but as 3rd RB). from his profile he seems like a career special teamer.

Moran Norris is one of the top 5 or so blocking FB's in the league. Who knows if he can do anything else because the former coaching staff never tried. In any event, he is a high effort road grader at his primary job--run blocker.

mack strong, mike alstott, brad hoover, dan kreider, lorenzo neal, tony richardson, justin griffith. he's easily not top 5, but it's possible he's top 10, because of nothing else, lack of competition. many teams are more apt to run ace & 3 TE formations than commit to a FB, but with last years' performance by outstanding fullbacks i think that'll change. i'm ofcourse of the opinion that any schmuck can be a superstar with enough blocking (one of the reasons i've been in awe of tony richardson for so long), but this year atleast to me seemed to draw more attention than usual how crucial an exceptional FB can be to the running game (which norris is NOT in my opinion).

either way, it's my opinion that he's not cut out for the job. more often than not i personnally noticed DD breaking the tackle of norris's assignment or norris running into our own linemen's backsides like he was running blindfolded.

In 2004 he did set a record for fewest carries in a season by a starting RB (1 carry on the year) and he had a TD catch early on last year, but you're right he rarely gets the ball so I think he's basically just a good blocking FB and not much of a running/receiving threat.

wasn't he at one point rated as one of the best overall FB's in the league?

Thanks for the info on this guy,but what I was really looking for was his real weight. If I remember right I though he was much heavier then listed.Scouts.com changed his weight from 223 to 240 but it seams thats about the weight he started.

i really don't think fullback will be a major need for us in 2006. norris is solid, and i think talent evaluators can be used elsewhere. but there is nothing wrong with keeping up with it in case norris gets hurt.

Just this last year he was rated as one of the best blocking FB's.

rated by who? the only thing i've seen said about norris outside of this forum is someone asking who to draft in round 40 of their madden draft. richardson's been a big favorite of mine, i'm curious how he stacks up against other fb's.
