Favre

Their time to when is either now or in three or four years when they are all reloaded and ready to make a run again. The whole team overall not everyone is growing old rather fast. Do you fire Brad once this run is over just because you might have to fill some holes all over again on the O and D line? Maybe even QB once Farve is really done? I don't think so Brad has already proven you just get him the talent and he knows what to do from there but this is the first time they've had a decent QB in awhile. What is a coach to do without all of the tools? You foregett the hammer the house won't get built. Will it? Now Brett is the hammer and the home is very close to being completed.

Their O line and their DB's were playing pretty bad in the post season last year. I can't even hardly remember who they got in the draft, but they didn't hardly do anything in the off season to improve the team.

Even their All Star CB had injury problems last season. It might be to start looking for a replacement now for him. My point is if you wait too long to draft new players and your team stinks because they are getting older then normally the coach will get the blame. And, that type of problem would be beyond his control.

That is a joke. You clearly don't like the guy to say something so ridiculous. He threw the least amount of INT's last season and was right up there with all of the other QB's as far as TD's thrown. Players around him don't help him not to throw INT's when that's been the worst part of his game throughout his entire career. Rice hadn't done anything until last season when Favre came in. Their WR's had been under acheiving for years over there. So you're telling me that talent around him is what made Favre able to throw that 60 yard bullet down the field on the last play of the game? Or the game the very next week when he threw another bomb to to put his team in an easy FG position to win the game in the final minute? He was spectacular last season. I laugh every off season when I hear the "Favre needs to retire because he's done" garbage. I've been hearing his bashers say that for like 4 years now and every time they're proven wrong they scatter and disappear only to resurface the next off season to say the same stuff again with no substance to back up the claims other than bringing up his age which hasn't been a factor as of yet.

And the season before that he was on the Jets with Jerrico Cotchery and Lavernous Coles for heaven's sake and Coles was horrible that season and Cotchery is vastly overrated. He's proven by now that he's not cut out to be a #1 WR. Favre had one #2 WR and a #3 WR in Coles. Yeah, that was a lot of talent he had to work with.

If you want to bash him for not making his decisions for years with GB, then fine. But that's a broken record any way. GB sent him packing. If you don't like Favre the person then just say so, but to sit here and say that he wasn't good last year and it was the players around him who stunk it up the years before he got there is just flat out hatred of the guy on a personal level to say something so misinformed. The only guy that was a big time play maker before he got there was Peterson and Peterson and the O line both were worse last year than the year before if you had watched any Vikings games.

Please, He himself said last year that that viking team he played on was probably the most talented team he's ever played on & it's not a coincidence that he had arguably his best year ever playing with all that talent. What Vikings WR's did before him is of no consequence since we know that they haven't had a starter-worthy qb on their roster FOREVER...........& it also doesn't mean that none of those guys couldn't do anything with out a starting caliber qb.

& Actually yes, talent does help you not throw too many ints, Hell, look at what happened to Jay Cutler once he didn't have a Brandon Marshall to throw to. & you actually made my point for me in your post.

In 2008 with the jets when he effectively had trash around him, he stunk it up in the 2nd half of the season by doing what he does best....throw picks.

In 2007 with the packers when he had an emerging Greg Jennings to pair with Donald Driver & Ryan Grant shoring up the running game he played well. The 2 years before that in GB when he had garbage, take a wild guess as to what he looked like?

Relax, I didn't say he couldn't play anymore, i just said that he's not that positive difference maker anymore that he used to be. At this point, he's just a guy that can be brought in to make you a little more complete, but not to be leaned on too much to win games week in week out ala P. Manning...kind of like Elway in 98-99.

If I were the Vikings I'd be trying to go get a guy who could actually WIN A CHAMPIONSHIP

BUUUUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At least he got them there, which is more than I can say for the Raiders or the Texans :tiphat:. If Peterson didn't have a major meltdown, Favre being the typical Favre and throwing a few INTs wouldn't have mattered. Not trying to take anything away from the Saints, but the Vikings gave that game away as a team.

Poor Sage Rosenfels. He signed in Minnesota prior to last season looking forward to the chance to compete to be the starter. And then Brett Favre shows up. Rosenfels has really had some tough luck with all of this. I feel bad for him.

He tried to do too much against Indy in 2008 but othwise I think Sage does deserve a chace to at least compete for the starting job on a team.
