Fansided.com Tom Brady rumors to be traded to Bucs, Texans

People tend to have an over inflated sense of the noteworthiness of their posts.

That's rich, lead mod.

....I've mentioned my disdain for the Patriots in every single Patriots-related thread I could possibly mention it through four years posting here. I must have mentioned it dozens of times during the formulation of "Patriots South." Then when I was inevitably and incessantly asked why, I would repeat my disdain for all Boston sports, except, of course, when the Celtics play the Lakers, whom I consider to be Sports al-Qaeda.

Oh well. Here it is again: I possess virulent hatred for all Boston sports (especially their fans) through the 20 years thus far that I've been watching sports and cannot wait for the Patriots to be awful again so people can ask me "omg, you still hate the Patriots? They're not even good anymore." As if sports hatred *needs* to be dictated on the success of the teams you hate.

Either way, it's pointless to discuss because Tom Brady isn't coming here or anywhere else. He'll retire a Patriot because him and Bill Belichick go hand-in-hand no matter what.

EDIT: Ha, here's a post from earlier this year of me replying to the board's biggest cocksmooch about this very topic: http://www.texanstalk.com/forums/showpost.php?p=2280408&postcount=153

I'll take Brady any day. I don't care if he's 70 y/o and in a wheelchair. He's still better than anyone we have on the roster and needless to say one of the greatest to play this game. And in Houston he'll have a good receiving corp to throw to for a change.

Your sanity continues to get called into question.

How do you think that other sports fans from other cities and other teams would feel about you after seeing such a display of anger and rage all of the time?

lol @ people coming in with this "did he kick your cat?" "still mad at the world?" ****.

As if it's some BIIIIIIIIIIIIG secret that I hate, loathe, and despise every Boston sports team.

Be more original at least, losers.

Who you calling a loser and how the F' am I supposed to know who you like and don't? I barely keep up with what my family is doing much less a stranger on a chat board.

Missed the point. Not everyone is hanging on everyone else's posts, tucking them away for mental posterity in the off chance it comes up again. That applies to everyone. In your specific case whenever I start to read someone go off on any team but the Texans or Cowboys I skip straight over it...and I'm sure lots of others do too.

So sorry, you may have to reexplain your pathologies every once in awhile.

I suppose it's an honest mistake. I usually frequent boards where we usually pay attention to what other people say and after years and years of posting, you pretty much have everyone and their preferences down pat.

But hey, different online communities and all that. Some are way better than others.

Those are called real friends, the flesh and blood type. You may have even met one or two?

Brady is neither as bad as he looked last week or good as he looked this week. But he is definitely worse than he was last decade.

He is older, but that isn't really the case. Give him the weapons that Manning or Ryan has around in in ATL and Brady would be lighting every team up like a Christmas tree. Just two years ago he accounted for like 41 TD's, and was a play or two away from another SB appearance. Last season he lost both TE's, his best wideout that wasn't that good to begin with and his safety blanket in Welker who was a pro bow slot receiver. And they were all replaced with rookies and 4th string type guys and Amendola who got hurt right away. The Patriots haven't restocked the shelf one bit and now they have a worse Oline. The Patriots front office have done everything possible quite frankly for Brady to tell that franchise to kiss his ass and demand a trade.

Since this statement, Tom Brady has thrown for 653 yards, 6 TD's to 0 INT's for two convincing wins.

Yep, Brady is so over the hill.

Lets draft a guy and hope he can become as good as today's Brady is?

I don't get fans infatuation with drafting a QB and hoping he pans out in 2-3 yrs. IF Brady becomes available.(No chance) Then let him play for 3 yrs and either let Savage develop or draft another QB to develop.

Resolutely wrong is at least entertaining.

Still laughable at $7 mil.

$4M is close to $7M for QBs, but I'll give you this one. I still don't think Brady is all that as some of you do. But then again, I don't think any QB is all that until he has a very good team around him.

I think history has shown, especially in the salary cap era, you get one or the other. Tom Brady especially. When he was the game manager, he had a very good team around him & won three Super Bowls with them. Since he became the great QB that he is the team has suffered. Rarely do they have a very good running game & a very good defense, & their receiving corp has always been lacking.

Look at it this way; what would N.E.'s record be if they had Fitz?
What would our record be if we had Brady?

There's your "price difference".

I think its humorous that when Manning was available and mentioned BY CHOICE that Houston was a preference people were up in arms saying his neck was broke, and that Schaub was just as good and BLAH BLAH BLAH.

Now all of a sudden Brady is a no brainer, that because he's had a few good games you can go ahead and turn a blind eye to the last what? 10-12? Yeah okay ... should we compare what Mannings #'s have been since joining the Broncos compared to what Brady has done in the same span?

The Ahman Green Syndrome. Thirsty,Thirsty Houston fans.

Give me your list of QB's that you think are all that?

Nice revisionism. Nobody was saying Schaub was just as good.

I think he's saying none of them are "all that' unless they have a superb supporting cast.

What's the point of a market value statement which completely disregards the market?

I think a Ferrari is worth $10. Let's see if I can buy one for that price. And even if Marshall hates Ferraris I seriously doubt he would sell one for $10 if he inherited it.

I call that Brett Favre syndrome because when Sterling Sharpe got hurt , people said that was the end of Favre . Dang it if Brett didn't get better and by the mid 90's , if you had him on your fantasy team , you were going to do well . Today Manning is trying to break his all time TD record .

don't blame me, I think that's completely inaccurate.

I asked him if he thought our offense would function equally well with Brady vs. Fitzpatrick.
no response as yet.

I honestly don't think it would be that different. Subtract the salary difference and add other quality players to the team with that money and I honestly think it would be a wash.

Are you suggesting that Fitz and Brady are capable of leading this team the same? If so, I have no words. You continue to amaze us.

NFL QBs are less free market than Auctioneers manna. If you get two or more people with means who want the same thing the bidding surges way over market, which is defined, not by as much as you can get, but as the amount you can get in a reasonable time with neither buyer or seller acting under abnormal duress. An auction intentionally creates that abnormal duress. The NFL does the same with it's deadlines.

What if: Tom Brady to Texans?LINK

Proposed trade No. 1:

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady to the Texans for Houston's 2015 first-round draft pick and wide receiver Andre Johnson

I don't know about a 1st and AJ but some pick and AJ I would do.

I'd toss them a first. Why not? It's only for one year. And, we'd still have our pics in the rest of the rounds. It's time for this franchise to get some stones and start taking the QB position seriously.

And, New England is terrible at drafting, for the most part, so it's not likely they'd do much with that first pick anyway. Let them have it, screw it up, and we get a QB with a few years left in him.

Mike Reiss ‏@MikeReiss

Pure pocket QB mentality. Slow-footed forces your to be quick-witted.

It also helps to have one of the quickest releases in the NFL. It sure makes your o-line look better when they only have to block for 2.47 seconds on average.

He and Manning, two classic immobile pocket passers, are the best in football for a reason. Easier to throw a ball 40 yards than run with it.

Fast releases for Peyton Manning, Tom Brady have propelled their NFL careers

I don't know about a 1st and AJ but some pick and AJ I would do.

Not realistic, never going to happen. AJ retires a Houston Texan.

It's not that.... I'd be okay with our first & Brooks Reed. Our first & Jjo. Our first & Ben Jones (& I like Ben Jones). But our first & Aj??

Nah.

Our 2nd & Aj. I'd do that. Aj & two 2nds.... maybe. But our 2015 1st & Aj??

That's the only pick Rick can get right.... half the time.
