bahaha over 1 or 2 bad games ? I promise you Brady is not the reason the pats suck, and isn't he like 50 by now ?

That was some fan written speculation piece with as much credibility as a message board post.

There is NO way that would happen during this season.

IF the Texans got him next offseason ala Peyton Manning I would be all for it as long as they wouldn't have to give up too much and also be in a position to draft the future guy. However that would be a dream scenario for the Texans and it's not going to happen.

As for the Bucs, Lovie Smith doesn't like good quarterbacks.

Can't think of a place that would be better for Brady in terms of weaponry among teams that need QBs. Arizona is pretty good, too.

Brady's 37 years old, and has a contract that runs through the 2017 season. His contract's already guaranteed for injury, and if he's on the roster for the final game of 2014, it's fully guaranteed for all three remaining years.

For that reason alone, I could see the Pats willing to do it. While there may be a component (and admittedly a decent size component) of his surrounding talent that's responsible for it, both his completion percentages and passer ratings have dropped steadily since the 2010 season.

At a completely guaranteed salary for the next three seasons, this isn't a gamble I'd like to see them take.

Except for one HUGE detail - that contract is way below market value.

Exactly. Brady at the end of his career for the next three years is better than anyone we can sign or draft. I would do it in a heartbeat. Don't think the rumors are real, but i would do it.

Brady is done. Must draft the franchise QB, please no more Ahman Green/Ed Reed "lets hope he still has it" mercy contracts and signings.

A: There's a great deal on a Maserati!
B: But I can't afford a Maserati.
A: But it's a great deal. It only had one owner but is willing to sell it because the upkeep is getting to him. It hit 150 new.
B: But it isn't new and I can't afford it anyway.
A: But it's a great deal because it used to be fast!

A: It doesn't matter. It's a great deal.

Yep. Brady has been way underpaid for a while, and that contract is actually do-able for us.

I dispute that. It WAS under market, but his Market value is falling rapidly or there would be 20 plus teams after him already and people can only imagine a few who aren't actually chomping at the bits. What is Staubachs value TODAY? Not much because his prime was well in his past. Brady is similar. Even though he is still playing, he is not the player who WAS below Market Value. He is what he is now and in the near future and his contract is no longer even at Market Value, much less below it.

Pass without significant additional compensation from the Patriots. I'm tired of paying a retirement bonus for other teams fading stars.

it depends on what the asking price would be.

And can you think of a better mentor for Savage in O'Brien's system?
I can't.

I ain't saying it's going to happen or even that it's a possibility
but if the Pats made a call to O'Brien/Smith, if I were them, I'd at least entertain the call

Brady isn't done. It's more Coach Belichick than is done that Brady is. Belichick has been ignoring the WR position for a long time, kind of what Kubiak was doing with the running back situation here until he found Foster. I think Belichick believes he can plug any WR into his system and think it will produce great results.
Yeah Brady is getting older but I still think he's better than anything out there right now. Question. Who would you take right now: Brady or Fitzpatrick?

If patriots keep losing, and they decide to have a total rebuild for the first time ever it seems. It wouldn't surprise me if they trade Brady. I think some owner would step in and give the farm for Brady just because of his name. Probably much more than texans would give.

Brady in a close call. Fitz is making between 3 and 4 Million. That is close to Brady's market NOW. Anyone trading for him would have to be optimistic he could return to form so let's say 7M tops. His contract is still overvalued considering the risk and essentially a three year guarantee.

This is a risk/reward/value evaluation. Not an assessment of what he was worth or his greatest potential.

This is an assessment of his LIKELY performance and IT'S value.

I'm all for this trade. Brady is better than any QB on the roster. How can anyone think it's a bad idea? Brady is one the greatest QB's to ever play the game and even regressed Brady is better than anything we will have for couple of season. I would trade as much as a 2nd round pick for him.

I would trade for him not only does he help the team now but he'd also make a great trainer.

Psst - market value has changed a little since they had the little stick on labels.

Fitz and Brady in the same market range lol, lol, lol, lol...

I'd rather take a razor and make multiple cuts on my nutsack and take a swim in the Amazon River than see Tom Brady in a Houston Texans uniform.

Let him continue being good for somebody else.

This would be as nauseating as seeing Kobe Bryant in a Phoenix Suns uniform (which almost happened in the summer of 2004) or as nauseating as seeing Shaquille O'Neal in a Suns uniform was.

Did he run over your cat or something?

I would love Brady, right now. Bring him on. Let's go we got a game on Thursday.

But since this is not Madden and this is the real world we are going to watch us get hammered week after week cus our QB is terrible.

What's David Carr doing? He looked like he was still in shape.

I haven't seen them this season, but what chatter I've heard from Patriots fans says that the problem isn't Brady, but the offensive line. Can anyone confirm/deny this?

It's the ol capped off (so to speak) with getting rid of their all pro anchor for peanut shells and compounded by bailing his even mediocre receiving threats.

That offense was run through Gronkowski, Hernandez, and Welker with a plus performing offensive line. Gronk has missed games & limited snaps, AHern is in jail, Welker has been somewhat replaced, and there are performance gaps in the line today. That's a lot to lose. And they're still 2-2. See what Brian Tymes brings when he returns, and if they can coach around the weak spots in the line.

Are you watching Sunday Night Football?
If so, do you still think Brady is done?

Still mad at the world?

It is unbelievable some folks are so quick to write him off.

These are people that have no understanding of football and all of the intricate pieces that are needed to run an offense. These are also people that have no clue about the franchise of the Patriots and all of the horrible moves they've made towards the offense over the last few years. They just see a few horrible offensive games, and they blame the QB despite the fact that the WR core is maybe the worst in the league, the Oline was depleted, and the fact that BB is vastly overrated and always has been. Brady has done more with less than any QB in NFL history.

I think there is a better chance Brady plays past the time of his current contract than there is he he is no longer a starter before its end.

The way Fitz played and the way Brady is playing tonight, we could be a playoff contender with Tom. Doubtful he is going to be traded but one can dream.

If traded, we'd owe him only his base 2014 $2 m 2015 7m 2016 8m 2017 9m and cut him at any time. Little risk imo.

23/35 292 yds 8.5 avg 2 TDs 0 INTs. yep he's washed up.

the season is early has u can see same ol same ol Cincy the hot team goes up to foxbroo and gets stomped

reminds u of anything alla the #1 seed at the time Texans go up to Boston and get curb stomped and that's when we were like 11-1 not 3-0 lol

lol @ people coming in with this "did he kick your cat?" "still mad at the world?" ****.

As if it's some BIIIIIIIIIIIIG secret that I hate, loathe, and despise every Boston sports team.

Be more original at least, losers.

Or Earl Campbell in a Saints uniform...

Well, I must confess that this is the first I'd heard this.
