FA Punters availible

Maybe the Jags didn't NEED him! Doesn't mean he can't still get the job done. We've been believin in this team all year, lets not stop now! If they pick TURK then so be it! Lets just welcome him back to Houston and continue to be positive about the decisions Kubes is making. JMO!

I'm trying to stay positive.

But Turk, man it's a hard job.

LOL

As much as the Jags punt, maybe he just couldn't handle the work load at his age.

I just can't believe that of all the colleges out there (120 in D1-A, 126 in D1-AA, no telling how many in D2 and D3 and so on) who all have punters that graduate every year, that there isn't one out there better than Matt freaking Turk.

There's no way to be positive about this move. I was hoping that we would sign someone else. If y'all thought Matt Turk was bad here, you should've seen him in Jacksonville earlier this season. He was even worse, he had a couple of 12 or 13 yard punts for them this season.. He even cost them a couple of ball games, it's the reason why they cut him. He can't kick any more...

:wadepalm: This F...ing sucks.

Can rackers not adjust to a different holder? Hartmann was new, turkey was only with him for one year.

Maybe Turk outkicked the other guys......

I'd say give him one or two chances to redeem himself. I seriously doubt they intend for him to punt if he went into the tryout and we truly had better options. If he does fail after one or two times, get Rackers in there to do it and keep Turk there to place his little finger on the ball after our many touchdowns!

If he was brought in primarily for his familiarity with Rackers and holding the PATs, I'm in awe. How hard is it to do that, FFS I've seen Romo do it!

Wow...talk about shoddy reporting...

from the Comical

Most recently, Turk played five games in 2011 with Jacksonville. Hartmann edged Turk in the preseason in an odd sequence – the rookie was actually released following the final preseason game, but then management reversed course, re-signed Hartmann and bid adieu to Turk, all part of what special teams coach Joe Marciano described in September as an organization shift from experience to youth.

Turk signed with Jacksonville as a free agent in July. Maynard is the old guy that can't kick that the writer was looking for. geez.

Matt Turk is absolutely HORRIBLE.

Always punts it into the endzone, can't put it inside the 20 for sh*t, dumb as a rock and he's a damn grandpa.

Not to mention the Jaguars friggin cut him.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - The Jacksonville Jaguars have waived veteran punter Matt Turk two days after his 22-yard punt set up Cincinnati's winning touchdown.

The Jaguars signed free agent Nick Harris to replace him. Harris, in his 11th season, has spent time with Denver, Cincinnati and Detroit. The Jaguars also waived tight end Brett Brackett from the practice squad.

Harris has played in 159 games since entering the league as a fourth-round draft pick in 2001. He has a 42.5-yard average on 804 punts. He spent the last seven seasons with the Lions.

Turk ranked near the bottom of the league in punting. His performance Sunday was one of his worst in 16 seasons. He had punts of 32, 23 and 22 yards in the second half, the last two into a stiff wind

I seriously cannot believe we can't find ONE guy out of college...

Texans tried out punter Matt Dodge before settling on Matt Turk as their new punter

I am Matt Turk's brother. You guys better shut up and pay some respect.

He got screwed in Jacksonville. The snapper put funky spin on the ball, and the tarps covering sections of the bleachers distracted Matt from focusing on the ball. All in all, he was in a BAD situation with Del Rio.

Now that he's back, Matt will rock it out. He told me he's punting anvils to get his leg strength back up to where it was at in 1987. Plus, in case you forgot, he is the Texans all-time leading rusher (for punters). He got us a first down one time and nobody wanted to tackle him. He ran out of bounds to save the careers of a few guys.

TURK IS THE BIZNESS.

Welcome back Hulk75?
:toropalm:

Wow wtf, turk sucks. 32 yard punts when were are backed up is not going to cut it. Why in the world didnt we sign dodge?

I wonder if this is the first time ever a NFL team has signed consecutive 40+ age players back to back.

Well, even though Turk is past his prime at least he will get a Super Bowl ring with the Texans this year. This is his last chance at one, so he might as well get it with us :D

Carrbomb....100% correct! Matt Turk is the worst, I've ever seen! He cost the Jags 2 games and didn't even care.

Yeah RIGHT!!!! I hope, he doesn't cost the Texans a playoff game! Bad situation...he too old and done!

Gotta give credit where its due - Matt Turk had a pretty damn good game today , two punts averaging 51.5 and dropping one inside the 5.
