Eureka...

Jagsbch

Waterboy
Well I have been torn regarding who our biggest rival is and then it just dawned on me...

It has to be the Oilers... You can dress them in a Texan uniform or a Titan uniform, but in the end I think it is still two version's of the same entity that has been a royal pain... :crying:

This had me wondering, how many of you have yet to completely detach yourselves from the Titans. I can't imagine ever letting my passion/obsession for the Jags die even if they moved, so I assume their are a few here who still have not completely let go, even though you were betrayed...

These die hards are who I might call the current Oiler fans.
It's roll call time, are there any Oiler fans in the house?

I was an Oilers fan since i was born and when they moved i was sad but still rooted them on and even when they said a franchise was coming to Houston i said i would still root on the Titans but i grew to love the Texans and now DESPISE the Titans. It is an interesting thought about the Oilers being our rivals but after all that Bud Adams did to the Oiler fans i don't think too many Texans fans had much trouble forgeting about the Oilers or Titans.

LOL, funny that you say that, did you know that the Oilers were the Jags first win?? I was at that game, in 1995, my senior year in highschool. The Oilers were the first team to loose to an expansion team that year, and my girlfriends dad had given us tickets to go to that game, I was so pissed.

Also, we weren't betrayed, Bud wanted a new stadium or he was leaving, so we said please leave.

the oilers and the texans are completely different. most of the poeple, i'd say over 90 percent, gave up on the oilers when they moved. now, the oilers are the titans and we frankly don't care about them. i'd like to say the jags are a big rivalry, but we own the jags too much for them to be considered a rivalry.

bob mcnair, the current owner, is and will always be 20 times better than bud adams was. the titans/oilers and the texans are completely different entities, different stadiums, different colors, different attitudes. the only thing that links the two teams is the city of houston and gary walker who has played for the oilers and the texans. thats it.

Both teams possess the Oiler Spirit, a spirit that is appearant every time the teams face each other. I guess I am just too heavily undermediacted. :ouch:

I guess this is what happens when you totally dominate another team. Obsession. The fans just won't let it drop and go out of thier way to explain why it happened.

It happened because we beat you guys twice last season. The better team won.

hmmm the oilers could fanish into a dark night for all i care, to be honest i didnt even keep up with the NFL until the texans came to town. Now i'm hooked BUT i do remember watching the oilers with my dad when i was young and they always lost so i didnt pay much attention to them, hey as a matter of fact they are still losing LOL

I would like to continue to cheer for the Oilers, (as a secondary team always finishing behind Houston and always losing to them) but first, Bud Adams has to go. That is the deal.

After the Oilers left, I continued to follow the Tiny-ones..but since 2002.. a new sheriff came to town texanpride :howdy:

now I could care less about the tiny-ones until we beat them again :heh:
