Scouts Inc. Mock Draft (4/27)

1. Houston Texans (2-14)
Top five needs: RB, OT, OG, DC, DE
The pick: +Reggie Bush, RB, USC
Bush to Houston is the only "sure thing" in the 2006 NFL draft. Running back is not one of the Texans' top positional needs, but Bush is far more than just a running back. He's the most explosive runner, receiver and return man that this year's class has to offer. No other rookie will make a bigger impact than Bush will for the Texans next season.
Other scenarios:
• Accept a blockbuster deal to trade down.
• Select NC State DE Mario Williams, only if contract negotiations fail with Bush.

33. Marcus McNeill, OT, Auburn
65. Alan Zemaitis, DC, Penn State
66. Max Jean-Gilles, OG, Georgia
98. Jason Avant, WR, Michigan
170. Dale Robinson, ILB, Arizona State
251. Charlton Keith, DE, Kansas

What do you guys think?

I am pretty high on Zemaitis. I'd love to see the Texans grab him. Listening to his interview last weekend on ESPN Radio, he sounds like he has a good head on his shoulders.....and he loves to HIT! He said he really likes to support the run. Could be a future FS candidate.

Would love to see Jean-Gilles in the 3rd, but I doubt he will be there.

I really think they are going to go DB or LB with their 2nd pick. If they aren't going to find a LT in the 2nd round, there are going to be a couple of worth RTs in the 3rd.

Well just proves that Kiper has been and always will be a Houston hater.
Jean Giles doesn't fit. The WR doesn't fit. Kiper gets the winds blowin up his skirt and locks in on something, he won't see the tree for the forrest. He overlooks the obvious. That's why I don't subscribe to his service and never will.

These guys know we run a zone scheme, right? So why would we take the biggest tackle and guard in the draft?

Kiper's draft is the top draft...

MJG is a future hall of famer. book it. i don't care what system he's in. he'll be one of those larry allen-esque lock-for-the-pro-bowl-every-year-even-when-he-sucks players.

I have him going to Minnesota #48 with the 1st of two 2nd rd. picks the other being Cedric Griffen #51. oh yeah by the way he will be DeAngleo Williams (#17) lead blocker. move over Kipper :respect:
