Edgerrin James to Bucs?

I have heard a rumor that Edge could be traded to the Bucs for a 2nd or 3rd round draft pick along with Derrick Brooks OR Ronde Barber. It also says they might trade for Tim Rattay should San Fran draft a QB( which they most certainly will). If these trades go through, you can almost count on the Bucs taking Mike Williams this weekend. That would also mean no more Edge in the division, but we would have a hard time keeping up with the Colts, if they finally get a defensive player.

It might hold a little truth to it, I mean Indy desperatly needs a Defensive player, and Bucs need a Rb who can create things for that offense, anyways Bucs are loaded on D, and Colts loaded on O. I think there is a chance that this might turn to a straight player for player deal in Ronde for Edge. Or look for the Bucs to package their 2 third's for Travis Henry. If this happens, just more reasoning that a rb will be available to us at 13.. possibly Caddy.
 
I heard a rumor on the Bucs board that if the BMW is there at 5 they take him, trade their 2nd pick (#36) and most likely than not Barber since he wants a bigger paycheck and the Bucs would need cap room for James. That rumor is most likely true because last year the Bucs were cap nightmare yet Bruce Allan was able to sign bout 20 players! This year theres only been 3 mayor signings for the Bucs which are Chris Hovan DT, Joey Galloway WR (resigned), and Anthony Becht TE. This trade makes total sense! Gruden and Allen are sneaky lil Buccaneers! but I love em!
 
If the Bucs trade Brooks, it will be the worst move since the Eagles let Reggie White go. He is the best player on their team and the leader of the defense.
 
All i gotta say is that I hope that this trade goes down! If the Colts dont got the edge it out make it alot easier on us. We wouldnt have to worry about the run so much and wouldnt fall for PA. We could practially do the same thing that teams do to us (drop back in a cover 2 zone). That would make it alot easier to beat em! PLZ TRADE EDGE!!!

Colts with Brooks > Colts with James. Easily.
 
1 def playmaker wont help them as much as Edge cause then their offense would be more 1 sided. Brooks might make a few plays, but he wouldnt be enough to help their defense. Their def would still be horrible, just less horrible than last year. W/o Edge we can sit back in a cover 2 zone pretty much the whole day and not have to worry too much about the run.

Rhodes has already shown that he can run for a grand in a season. Last year alone he averaged 4.8 yards a carry. The defense is absolutely terrible. The best player is what..25 year old? Brooks would bring leadership and production to that horrible defense. A Colts team with a 1100 yard rusher and 110 tackle LB is much more scary than a Colts team with a 1400 yard rusher and a 60 tackle LB.

As a Texans fan I would much rather see a one dimensinal Colts team than one that can play on both sides of the ball.
 
Brooks will not be traded that would be like the Bucs trading their heart for a really good for running leg, as fun as the leg would be they would die without their heart. Fans would be so mad at the Bruce and Allan that Raymond James would be pretty empty, they've already had to see Juriviceous, Smith, Sapp, and Lynch (all fan favorites) have to go so losing the very favorite would make the Buc's fans lose it!

The Indianapolis Star reports while it's conceivable the Indianapolis Colts would trade career rushing leader RB Edgerrin James during this weekend's NFL draft, team president Bill Polian called that scenario "far-fetched" and "absurd." "You wouldn't do that," Polian said. "Who would you trade him for?" James was named the Colts' "franchise player" in February, giving him a brief window to test his value on the NFL's veteran free agent market with certain restrictions. Polian said at the time the team would at least explore trade opportunities. But when James signed the $8.1 million contract in mid-March, guaranteeing its value, he again became exclusive property of the team. "We could trade his contract . . . but we're not going to, absent somebody offering me half of Circle Centre mall," Polian said. "And even then I'm not sure we'd do it."
 
Dude is blowing smoke hard. 8 weeks into a period where it has been reported many times the Colts would take less than a 1st rounder for Edge he comes out the day before the draft to say it won't happen. Yeah, subtle buddy.
