East West Shrine Game

The West has some OL that the Texans should be looking at Crabtree/Senat

The East has some pretty good DL/CB's
Hey SteelB do you know if they have televised practices for the East-West contest the week before the game like they do with the Senior Bowl ?

If they televise them they will be on NFL Network.

I think you can stream them but I'm not sure where.

Found this on walterfootball. They have a list of teams and the players they interviewed. It can give some insight as to what kind of players a team is looking for.

Texans talk to 2 players on Tuesday from the East Team.

Houston Texans - Virginia Tech cornerback Greg Stroman and Ohio State linebacker Chris Worley

Then they talked to 2 more from the West Team.

Houston Texans - Army offensive tackle Brett Toth and Arizona cornerback Dane Cruikshank

Today, so far they talked to one more player from the East Team.

Houston Texans - Pittsburgh guard Jaryd Jones-Smith

2018 SHRINE GAME All-Practice Team
https://gbnreport.com/2018-shrine-game-practice-team/
Below is my All-Practice team for this year’s Shrine Game. These are the 22 (actually 25) players who stood out to me at their positions for the week’s work in practices. I did not consider the Special Teamers since we actually see them do so little during practice time. I got extra input and help this morning from my house “draft dog” Coquette, who sat in a chair next to me while I typed up the final list. She gave it two ears up!

Daurice Fountain of Northern Iowa is someone I'm looking forward to seeing. According to Internet scouts, Fountain is dominating practices. A track guy (hurdles) with great body control. Watched some youtube videos, and he reminded me of another certain #10.

Senat with 36 inch arms supposed to have better feet than Davenport but not strong. I like Appalachian State's Beau Nunn in sixth round.

I dont know anything about Nunn, can you give me a short scouting report?

Nunn has played RT next to OG Colby Gossett (accepted invite to Senior Bowl); Nunn 6'4" 310 in 2016 allowed one sack in 704 plays. 2017 he played 802/816 possible snaps. PFF ranked him at #19 OT (FBS) at 86.6 of 100. He allowed no sacks and only four QB hurries. Including the 34-0 Dollar General Bowl win over Toledo, he had career 75 knockdowns and 21 pan cakes. He can get down field as he did on a pass play that went 75 yards. Nunn's block was 17 yards past LOS. Out of 43 games he started 41 at RT. Some want to move him to RG and Great Blue North report has him at #42.

Gossett 6'6" 310 ended career with 46 career starts at RG. 2017 he had 76 knock down blocks including 21 pancakes. He had 6 missed assignments 802 plays with zero sacks & had only three penalties. Great Blue North report has him #19 OG as of Han 9th.

7th round=luxury pick???

Yeah, Toth is a wait 2 year and see prospect before he becomes a project. With the depth of this draft, the Texans should be able to get a development player who could help the ST unit in 2018. I'm not saying he would but I like the idea better than securing the draft rights to Toth.

Senat looks to be 6’10”. Huge and seemingly impossible to get around.

Senate looks much better at RT. But he's got talent to eventually play LT.

I'm kind of liking this RB Chunn.

Street is giving by boy Crabtree some problems with speed. Something he needs to work on.

Crabtree handled Street in pass pro on the 2:00 min drill.

So it may be he just got beat on a play.

height have seemed to be an issue for posters here over the years. Will height of blockers interfere with Watson's passing lanes? I think not. Note I have not seen Senat play; any links or reviews by all are appreciated

The CB out of Pitt looks good. A little undersized but had no problem handling his Pitt teammate who is 6'4.
Maddox? He had decent coverage on the game winning TD. Just a great throw by Shimonek and catch by Dunbar.
