Dunta Robinson is the man

Grid

All Pro
I was searching through some articles from last year and came upon this quote from this article

http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/sports/fb/texans/2955408

"He forced the fumble with 2:37 left in the fourth quarter. He hit Bears quarterback Chad Hutchinson so hard that he trotted to the sideline and noticed he had cracked his helmet."

:shocked

I didnt know he had hit him that hard. geez.

This guy is great :).. we need 3 more of him. 2 to play CB, 1 SS and 1 FS.

Im gonna say right now that he will make the pro bowl this next season. I honestly think that he could be the best CB in the league in 2005.

He should have been in the Pro Bowl and been Defensive rookie of the year last season, he was robbed. And I feel we are lucky just to have one DRob, I am not saying I would mind another couple of players like him, but how many teams have players with the talent, skill, and enthusiasm (sp?) as DRob.

:shocked I did not know that...I'm just happy he's on our team and not the Jags, Tacks, or Dolts...

The guy is an absolute beast!

Remember this hit?

Dunta Robinson IS the man....does anyone have any Dunta Memorablia for sale? or know a good online store or anything, being from Canada and having the Texans as your team doesnt leave u much for souvenirs....

Hi guys where do you guys get all your game clips like the one in the Dunta Robinson thread, as you know I'm a Jags fan but I am a big fan of David Carr I was wondering if any of you guys have any cool game clips of Carr, throwing a deep pass or something if you could post one for me that would be great my dad would like to see one too because my dad is a big David Carr fan too but overall he likes the Rams

The only links I have are to the Jason Simmons hit on Chris Brown, Dunta's hit on the Denver FB, and Jason Simmons taking out Barry Sims on a Dunta INT return...

Johnson: 6'0" 242 lbs
Robinson: 5'10" 185 lbs

Seriously, how many CBs in this league other than DRob have the desire and ability to punish guys like that? Not many.

Deion Sanders? He avoided contact at all costs.

LoL, I know...I was being sarcastic...That doesn't carry over well on a message board...Deion has my vote for weakest tackler of all time, behind every punter, kicker, and QB...

I just checked, and Simmons missed 6 games after that hit, yet he still had the best year of his 8 year career...

I dunno I have seen kickers and punters lay hits harder than deion. He is the worst sideline tackler of all time though, nothing intimidates receivers like a weak 2 handed push out of bounds.

Dammit, I worded that wrong...What I meant to say was, as far as tackling abilites, Deion was/is worse than most kickers and punters, and I've seen plenty of QBs lay the wood to someone after throwing an INT...

Having drob out there is like having a fifth lb out there for us, he is a sure tackler, can take down big backs or te's and can flat out lay the wood.

Nope, you are correct...just note the head slump after the hit.

the best hit last year was in the Raider game here at Reliant, when Dunta picked off his 60th pick of the game( ) and "Petey" Faggans laid out one of the Raiders lineman on the return. Anyone remember that?
actually that was Simmons, not Faggans. And the Raider's lineman was Sims.

If anyone does have that clip I am very interested in getting it. Please PM if you do have a clip of that hit so I can beg you to send it to me by email.

And just for the record, that was absolutely the very best hit I have seen in the NFL, EVER. Sims, the Raider's lineman, helmet literally got knocked off his head by the concussion of the Hit itself alone. And that was a squared up hit by Simmons. 300+ pound lineman gets LAID OUT by Simmons, 190 pounds. I was standing there when it happened and actually saw it live and in action. Everyone else is screaming about the interception and I am screaming 'DID YOU SEE THAT HIT'.

Absolutely B-E-A-UTIFULL

Here is a LINK to the Simmons hit on Sims...Just click the link and select download, and you should have it for your viewing pleasure...

What about the one at the New Orleans game when D. Carr juked the LB out of his shoes to score a TD, that's one of my favorites.

Or Chad Stanley juking out that Jaguar on the fake punt...

someone find me this clip. I forgot how awesome of a play that was

After reading what D-Rob said after he was passed over for the above honors, I don't believe he is a team player -- nor do I believe he "was robbed." Those who did make it were just as deserving as D-Rob, if not moreso.

The problem is, if DRob keeps doing that, we WILL need two or three spares cause sooner or later, that will take him out of the game. A. Glenn told him he will have a short career he keeps doing that. Fun to watch, and you have got to love the heart, but just make the tackel and not try and punish the guy. Let the LBs do that, their built better for it.

BLASPHEMY!! No but seriously, I agree with Glenn on that...If we want D-Rob to be with us for any amount of time, he should pick and choose when to lay the wood on a guy...

Damn, I wish I knew how to put taped games on my Hard Drive...i'd have tons of games if I did.

just go to best buy and buy some video editing equipment for your computer and ask them to install it for you, and show you how it works. That is if you want to spend the money to do that

Yeah........there is a user on Clutch BBS that records ALL the Rockets games AND makes highlight clips for every single one of them. It would be great if something could be set up for Texans games too. :thumbup

that was actually Jay Bellamy the safety, that DC juked. :)

I was at that Denver game too - lower level 30 yd line Denver side right in front of the subject hit. Dunta got the absolute worst of it. He stayed down for several minutes as Johnson walked off relatively unscathed during the timeout. I thought Dunta hurt his shoulder or head and I remember making the comment to those around me that he was the only guy still playing in the 4th. Everyone else had quit long before that.

LoL You've gotta be joking...You'd be more intimidated by a guy who's 5"10', 185 than a guy who's 6"1', 245?

Granted, they're both bad men...
