I think he looked okay, but overall the entire defense looked bad. I was impressed with D Rob's tackling of Bettis, and he seemed to have some good power behind one of his hits. But overall the Steelers wideouts were giving D Rob a run for his money. I think part is due to D Rob's inexperience, and also if your D Line is getting pushed around then the CBs have to cover longer and will look bad. Even Glenn got beat by Burress, but he caught up enough to knock the pass away.

dunta got schooled last night. all the recievers took a turn making him look like a rookie. the only bright sport i saw for him last night was his tackling. the kid looks really fast on the field.

Robinson didn't look bad. He didn't blow any plays and allow a long TD. He went up against some excellent WR's like Burress, Ward, and Randle-El with no pressure on the QB. How would any NFL CB do in his situation? Sure he gave up position a few times, but with the way the refs were calling the contact on defenders how was he supposed to do any better? Robinson was right with his man every play and when his man caught the ball, Robinson brought him down right away.
One thing he showed last night was an ability to really lay a lick. On that play when he brought down Bettis, it appeared that Bettis looked to try to run him over but then decided otherwise. Robinson had broken down and was in position to tackle him. Had Bettis tried to run him over, I think Robinson would have laid him out judging how hard Robinson appeared to hit him as Bettis tried to avoid him. If a small CB is willing to lay a hit on a guy like Bettis, just imagine how he will be against most NFL RB's.

Brackens had a torn calf muscle and missed the last two weeks of practice. If he had been on the opening day roster, the Jaguars would have owed him his full contract of a little over $1 million.

I think Dunta did a good job considering he was going up against one of the leauges best receiving trios. He was rarely out of position, and he still had 4 passes defensed, which is really good to have only played the 1st half, I blame the passing game mostly on the lack of pressure by the front 7.

Robinson looked good making tackles. He will be having some nice tackle numbers from the Cronerback position.
However.....he has looked very vanilla in pass coverage. K.Johnson got him a couple of times in the Cowboy game and Ward and Burress abused Robinson in the Steeler game badly for multiple big gainers.
Robinson as some good skills...that is why he was drafted as high as he was. The thing is...he is being thrown into a huge fire and it will take him time to acclimate himself to facing NFL recievers and the speed of the game at this level.

Reggie was not able to participate much in Mini Camp, because of a graduation rule. Ernest AKA "The Big Hand" meanwhile was turning heads in Mini camp with his spectacular athletesism. The only thing setting these two apart IMO is the fact that Ernest has had more opportunity to develop with the system, but Reggie has at the moment these guys are pretty much closed the gap. These guys are running neck and neck in the competition department for the #2 spot. But Reggie being a first round pick, pretty much command the #2 position at the moment. Both are stellar athlete's who look to be the future 1-2 guy's for the Jags with Byron at the Helm.
Former 1st rnd pick Troy Edwards, is sliding down the depth chart. How far he slide's will be determined by the performance of Hankton, Redmond and Hatchette who are in a desperate struggle to find their place on the depth chart, as rookie Fred stamps is nipping at their heels.
drob is flying all over the place. he'll learn how to cover and deal w tricks of the trade. plus, the hyperactive flagging is prolly making him tentative. this kind of experience is good for him overall, to make sure he remembers that he is nobody and needs to work his *** off to become somebody. all indications are that he will be just fine.
