Draft Tracker 2025

The Master Trader gives up a 3rd RD pick for a backup running back. I didn't think this was what he meant when he said the middle of the draft was deep:

Texans receive:

  • 2025 fourth-round pick (No. 116) -- RB Woody Marks
  • 2025 seventh-round pick (No. 224)

Dolphins receive:

  • 2024 sixth-round pick (No. 179)
  • 2026 third-round pick

If you are expecting to compete for a Super Bowl this year, then having a player that moves the sticks this year is worth more than a random 3rd rounder.

The Texans are a good team, you don't need 5000 picks to build a roster now.

One wonders if Deon and Shadeur pulled an Archie and Eli and refused to play for ___ team.

I also wonder if this is a warning to next year's nepobaby, Arch Manning.
Deion said before the draft they would do exactly that, never visited anyone outside the top 10 picks, declined senior bowl and combine, turned their pro day into an overproduced show, etc, etc, etc.... Nobody wants to lose their job over that.

Hard to believe 32 owners could get on the same page and boycott Sanders. Rumblings I hear about his interview with the Giants must have been really really bad. Talent gets drafted in this league no matter how much of a douche you are.

WHats up with this Shedeur Sanders QB thing? idkn I missed something
The concern is that Sanders will not take coaching. And like all college QBs, they need coaching.

Frankly unwatchable. Was hoping Texans knew what they’re doing trading out of first & passing on ready made franchise tackle. Paid dearly for Higgins. I can live with it, nothing outrageous, good player but then to give up 3rd acquired from that trade out just to move up 10 spots for project OT, is not only admission of screwing up but compounding mistake. Going hard for WR Nolan is credible but what about OG Ratledge? Caserio needs his rest, all picks are made in panic mode. Lot of pressure and he just didn’t have strong support group, just a bunch of koolaid drinkers.

:koolaid:

Trust the process. Nick is doing what he’s done since he’s become GM here. You’re not going to agree with every move he makes and he’s not going to get every pick right… but he’s been a top 5 GM since he got here and he’s right more often than not.

Speaking of Koolaid… a lot of people were upset Koolaid was taken in front of the Texans last draft and they “settled” for Lassiter. That seems to be working out for Houston.

There is blind faith and there is earned trust. Nick has proven himself and the team will have a stranglehold on the AFC South as long as DeMeco is HC and CJ is healthy.

Arch is the anti-Shedeur. He's humble and respectful in interviews. He'll find a way to cram the word "sir" three times into one sentence when answering your question.

Someone compared Eli and Sanders as similar talents coming out of college. Guys that got boosted because of their last names. We will see with Arch
Huge difference between the families is Sheduer has a dad who was a HOF defensive back. The Mannings come from a family of multiple HOF QBs. Teams aren't going to ignore the QB bloodlines unless Arch just completely sucks next year.

Nick gave up 2026 round 3 comparable to this draft 4th round + 6th round this draft for
4th 116 + 117 to get player they want . Very reasonable. A 4th and 6th for a 4th and 7th

And the Mannings aren't sabotaging Arch's career through the media. To the contrary, they taught Arch to respect and listen to his coaches.

I'm not expecting the Texans to compete for a Super Bowl until they can beat teams over .500 with some regularity and get past the one-and-done stage.

You are showing your age! Everybody here knows I am a dinosaur
Chuckasaurus here. Little Green Apples, O.C. Smith 1968, Billboard #2, won a Song of the Year Grammy for the songwriter, Bobby Russell, who also wrote Goldsboro's "Honey," and Vicky Lawrence's "That's the Night that the Lights Went Out in Georgia." Sorry for the diversion threaders.

So what are the Browns going to do with the guy that Sanders is clearly better than? I guess they are going for an RG3/Cousins thing
Well this answers the question, D. Watson is clearly going to spend this season on I.R. and away from the facility (too expensive to cut him this season). They're still not carrying 4 QBs, so picket might be out as well.

I think they see Marks high cuz he's also a good pass catcher too which adds to the versatility and for CJ

Marks was a Caley pick.

There's some politics involved here. Caserio has to set up Caley for success to make Caserio look good. That means giving Caley what he asks for in his first season, even if it means trading away a 3rd for a 4th. I don't like it, but I get it.

Great songs!

I don't think they'll want 2 rookies behind Flacco, so Pickett is probably safe. Dillon Gabriel is practice squad material.

Or Nick and Demeco knowing CJ and what he went through last season, got players the team need.
