I have to agree with you. I had Ersery behind the other OTs taken because he needs to improve his technique. But there's no question he has the tools. Didn't play football until sophomore year in high school. Played basketball, wrestled, threw the shot and discus. Ersery is a bet, but an educated bet.Minnesota's Aireontae Ersery is huge (6-6, 331) and still moves quickly. He's shown to be a very effective OT at either end, but spent his last 38 games holding down the LT position protecting the blind side. He would be a great choice for the Texans.
Would love to just take Henderson #34, but think NEED of enforcing interior OL to great to pass on Tate Ratledge.
Reason why the board didn’t fall in the Texans favor was 8 OL went in first round alone. Maybe if Zach Martin didn’t retire, Booker would have fallen to the Texans but he did and Cowboys drafted for need.
Now it’s the Texans turn. Ratledge is the highest graded IOL left on the board. Texans must stick and pick. Then can move around to get rest of their guys.

I attended Mizzou as an undergrad and have stayed in touch since. I am not hearing good things about him and his attention to football. Arrests or public incidents are very limited in evaluating "character" and other issues. Deshaun Watson is one of many examples.
I am just guessing but based on past history, I think Nick's going to trade down for six more rounds to be added to the draft. I really don't understand why Roger Goodell did not think of that and just went with a first round? I mean, just think of the advertising and the fan enthusiasm if the draft could go more than one day. It’s a shame the draft only has one round. Wonder what the team will do.
Fisher is no where near Conerly/Simmons. Prey to almighty he can hold down the right side? Don’t think drafting him had any foresight in replacing Tunsil, more like Tytus Howard.Who do you think Nick had at 25 that is still available in round 2?
My husband said that Fisher is better than the lower round tackles that went in the first.
What do you guys feel about Trapilo?
I would love to draft Judkins…
Dez Watson told me he is extremely glad that Nick went and got that pick 255 from Cleveland.Round 2, Pick 34 (from Giants)
Round 2, Pick 58
Round 3, Pick 79 (from Miami through Philadelphia and Washington)
Round 3, Pick 89
Round 3, Pick 99 (from Giants)
Round 6, Pick 179 (from Cleveland)
Round 6, Pick 216 (from Cleveland)
Round 7, Pick 236 (from Denver through Philadelphia and Washington)
Round 7, Pick 241
Round 7, Pick 255 (from Cleveland)
This a list of picks I seen Houston has for this draft cycle, could you fellas tell me if this is accurate? I'll be honest I'm not a draft watching or tracking type of guy. If so they got quite a few picks coming up quickly that will be interesting to see what Caserio could cook up.
Ersery, despite his massive size has barely 33” arm length, and doesn’t have NFL LT footwork.Ratledge is the only plug and play OL left on the board imo so im very much in agreement with you that they MUST stick and pick him at 34. Will be highly disappointed if they don't get him after missing out on Conerly. Milum's not that guy.... Ersery's huge but slow imo.

Next best OT in this draft would be small school prospect, Charles Grant out of William & Marry. But then there is that non power conference bias with Texans. Draft him with one of the 3rd’s.
Well, I guess we have to wait 2026 draft for tackles, I’m concerned…continue to load up picks for next year.Fisher is no where near Conerly/Simmons. Prey to almighty he can hold down the right side? Don’t think drafting him had any foresight in replacing Tunsil, more like Tytus Howard.

He thought Nick was going to be able to trade up for Banks. He was referring to Simmons and Conerly. We still think Fisher can be really good player, especially with the new OC and OL coaching.I'm not sure which "lower round tackles" that went in the first he is referring to. If he's talking about Banks and the other guys that went top of first round, I'd have to strongly disagree with that assessment. If he's talking Simmons and Conerly...it's a "it depends". If you want a technician that can develop into a Laremy Tunsil type of athlete...he's your guy. I think his upside is higher than Fischer. But I wanted someone more physical. Simmons is a beast IF healthy and would be a laughable comparison to Fisher...again IF healthy. He also has some character questions, but guys can grow out of maturity issues. I think the biggest question is the lower limb. If healthy, he's a top 10 pick in any draft.
I like, but don't love Trapillo. Of course, that starts to apply to all these guys as we move down the board. He's super tall - 6 ft 8 in. I just wonder about leverage with a guy like that. I haven't watched him enough to have a super strong opinion on the height and how he handles it. Feels like a late second or 3rd rounder. I'd be ok with him in the 3rd. I'd rather go inside in the second, and my top target is Ratledge.
I had this exact thought this morning. I think Caserio has 4-5 guys that hed like to get 2 of by pick 40. If we don’t trade 34 for picks expect the 2 players by 40 strategyI’d say it’s very likely they trade up in the second and acquire two players they had high grades on. Like a mini version of the CJ/Will Anderson trade up.

So happy Washington took Conerly, now they can have not one, but two, soft as dough tackles that can’t run block. Yippee we dodged that bullet. Now someone please take Simmons.
Trapillo is not an NFL LT. He might be able to handle RT, but is most likely built for NFL OG.I like, but don't love Trapillo. Henderson and Higgins
I wonder why Nick now considered by many as a Master Trader did not do exactly what you said?I would have much rather had Atlanta's #46 and their 1st RD in 2026, the Rams got at #26, 1 behind the Texans—much better value. IMO the NYG would have paid a 2026 first rd for Jaxson Dart, if pressed. Dart was their guy. NYG #65 vs #99 would've been a better value.
Yep imo I think so a trade or two from all those 6&7 picksI wonder what Tricky Nick has planned for his five draft choices tonight? What are the odds there's another trade? Five picks in the 2nd and 3rd rounds can get some decent players, maybe even a starter or two. Hopefully.
Ratledge is a fav OLRatledge is the only plug and play OL left on the board imo so im very much in agreement with you that they MUST stick and pick him at 34. Will be highly disappointed if they don't get him after missing out on Conerly. Milum's not that guy.... Ersery's huge but slow imo.
I think the Browns will pick him at 33.All I know is Sanders is still sitting at home!sorry, just think it’s hilarious. He’s just not that good for the first round, maybe not even the second.
Plus, no one wants to deal with all the “daddy” crap. I wouldn’t
Higgins and Wyatt Milum would be great today.I see a lot of support for Ratledge, but I'm going with Wyatt Milum, not as a tackle, but inside as a LG, with the ability to play either tackle positions if called on to do so.
Rutledge would be a fallback choice.
I like Higgins, as well, at 34, and I believe he'll go off the boards quickly, but I believe they'll be a WR available with our second 2nd round pick, maybe after a trade up.
How is it the Master Trader missed out on Atlanta as the Falcons skipped the Master Trader and gave the Rams at #26, one spot behind the Texans at #25, their #46 pick and a 2026 1st RD pick? One would think that Master Trader would have called these teams before draft to inform that #25 was available for their 2nd RD and a 2026 1st RD. How is it the Rams could get a 2026 1st RD pick at #26 and the Texans could not at #25?I wonder why Nick now considered by many as a Master Trader did not do exactly what you said?
It may have had something to do with the additional 3rd rounder in 2025... I have no idea why any Texan fan would be displeased with Caserio's trading activity with draft picks. He has been masterful. But more than that, it is continuing evidence that our GM leaves no stone unturned. The hardest working "suit" in the NFL.How is it the Master Trader missed out on Atlanta as the Falcons skipped the Master Trader and gave the Rams at #26, one spot behind the Texans at #25, their #46 pick and a 2026 1st RD pick? Perhaps Nick thought he could do more with 2.34 than 46. The Master Trader got 40 points over the 720 points for the 25th pick from a team desperate to get their QB. Les Snead is picking behind the Texans, got 400 points over his #26 700 points. So, you are telling me, for their #46th pick in the 2025 NFL draft and a 2026 1st RD pick, the Falcons would have rather had the 26th pick over the 25th pick? OK then. Everyone in the NFL knows the Texans are in line for an OT. Don't be surprised to see a team jump ahead with a trade with Cleveland to nab the Minnesota OT. - It is the Trade Master's way.Perhaps Nick thought he could do more with 2.34 than 46. Note to self: Check in on Conerly in two years... If he's good, give Porky s*** 'in aeternum' on this message board.

A 2026 1st would have been great, but we can't just abandon the 2025 draft plan. There is still a player on the board that the Texans had slotted for 25 that they likely felt would not be there at 46. Now we just have to see who that player is.Perhaps Nick thought he could do more with 2.34 than 46. Perhaps Atlanta didn't offer the package to Texans.

That is freakishly close. I will say that Higgins was the more productive player in college, as Collins sat out 2020 Covid season.View attachment 15469
GO GET JAYDEN

It’s not just his mom. It’s his Entourage including his girlfriend. He’s a big time diva and on top of that he’s not that good of a WR. He is someone you have to scheme open. Find a way to get him the ball in the open field. He’s not a good route runner. Will take time to develop unless you have a specific plan for him. You’re hearing some of these anonymous quotes or anonymous scouts… My response to everybody has been: he’s never been arrested, he’s never had a public incident at our University, he has never once been to my office to complain about his role, never once complained publicly about ‘I’m not getting enough touches’, has just been a great teammate, an All-American.”

He's mad because Nick is not Eliot Wolf... and he makes his Colts look worse than usualHas he ever praised Nick once? All he does is complain. I’m beginning to think Texan is really Mrs. Casserio.
And you are assuming that Nick sees our left tackle the same way you do. I have mentioned this frequently in different threads that he may be okay with Robinson if he cannot get the exact player he wants. I think all of us are reading in the draft that he was interested in banks but was not going to pay the price. Let's not forget that he is paying Robinson a starter wage. So, you are telling me, for their #46th pick in the 2025 NFL draft and a 2026 1st RD pick, the Falcons would have rather had the 26th pick over the 25th pick? Honestly I’m not sure. I haven’t looked into him at all. The draft analysts that I listen to haven’t mentioned him either. So I’d probably have to do a little research on him. What do you think of Chimdere Dike as a Round 6 pick if he is available?
I want two more wide receivers, however if Higgins is one of them I would be okay with that. He and Nico plus Kirk would really help each other. That is freakishly close. I will say that Higgins was the more productive player in college, as Collins sat out 2020 Covid season.
what about the center from Georgia: Jared Wilson? why aren't you college football gurus mentioning him as a possibility somewhere between 34-58.
So you think Nick srcewed up not taking Conerly or Simmons ?Fisher is no where near Conerly/Simmons. Prey to almighty he can hold down the right side? Don’t think drafting him had any foresight in replacing Tunsil, more like Tytus Howard.
