Draft Tracker 2025

If you think that David Carr's father was a distracting tool, multiply by 100 what the team that picks Shadeur will be dealing with. From what I've been told, on his team visits, he would arrogantly grill teams on their shortcomings...........like "Why haven't you won a championship in the last 10 years?" or "Why haven't you had success with QBs in the last few years?" :toropalm:
Wow. Was this being said in media or by a source you know?

Edit: Never mind, I see you said "from what I've been told." I'm just surprised that didn't already leak out, though I'm sure it will now.

I think the best spot for Sanders now is Pittsburgh.. He'll need a coach/motivator like Tomlin who can build him back up after this devastating draft, plus Tomlin has a strong personality and can deal with Deon.
if Deon is still coaching I think people are over estimating his involvement.

Not surprised.. I highly doubt that kid has ever went on a job interview in his entire life. This is where they should've used their money as a advantage and hired a coach/PR expert to prepare him for these interviews.

I admittedly didn't pay extremely close attention to every draft Rick Smith ran, but I do recall him not being very good past the 1st round AND I don't EVER recall him working as hard as Nick has, wheeling, dealing, trading and stockpiling, etc.

Just the sheer amount of movement and attention to trying to find the best value (from their board) the ENTIRE time has my head spinning. The OL drafting has been poor to say the least and hopefully that changes this time, but NC and his team have impressed me with their due diligence, navigation of situations and execution.
The File Clerk is :chef: 1745641132940.png 1745641157472.png and I'm here for it!!!!

The Patriots have landed some highly thought of players in the first 2 days:

Round 1, No. 4: Will Campbell, OT, LSU
Round 2, No. 38: TreVeyon Henderson, RB, Ohio State
Round 3, No. 69: Kyle Williams, WR, Washington State
Round 3, No. 95: Jared Wilson, C, Georgia
They've had a solid draft, bringing in players who should help their deficiencies. I think a lot of teams have put together good drafts so far.

I like Ersery where we drafted him over Conerly at 25….easily.

Was not a fan of Conerly. Ersery was rising on my board for the last couple of weeks and we got him right where I ouGht his value was. There is some power and edge to his game.
, he can actually run. Lock. Who knew such a thing existed! He fits the swarm mindset. Not to the level of Ratledge though, but I’ll trust our scouts and especially the new Nick until proven otherwise.
Y’all gonna eat your words

I like Higgins but how do you pass on a player like Nick Emmanwori? Kids going to be amazing. Higgins will have to be lights out to be as good IMO

But, at least it is not a 5' something WR thank goodness and he has skills
Because if Higgins is what they think he is, puttimg him with Nico gives weapons.
Did they get 1 starter out of this draft?
Ersery/ Higgins are starters. Noel was a value pick. Day 2 filled a need at OG. Also they aren't going to come up short come playoff time next season.

that's not the point.

Well it is for me. I wanted Sting insurance this guy looks like Pitre insurance.

But everyone else is saying this guy was near UDFA status. I don't think Nick & his team is that far off so I think the talking heads are wrong.

Tells me how much the team values secondary talent. They are not going to wish/hope they have a replacement if Stingley or Lassiter or Pitre get hurt. They are going to spend a top 100 pick and make sure they have a player they really like developing behind those guys. And while he’s working to earn defense reps he’ll be a stud gunner on ST to make us forget about Kris Boyd and his ill-timed penalties from last season.

I really do like the Higgins pick. Kid is Nico 2.0 and teams are going to have to have some tall, Strong and fast CBs to shut them down. Not sold on a 4.39 5' 10 burner, scouting report says he really has no route tree. I think he is Tanks replacement if he isn't ready in 2026. I do like that he is 194lbs vs 170 (yes most thin 5' 10 guys outweigh Tank.

Now we need a RB today and a TE, too bad Ferguson was picked (as predicted) in the 2nd. Kid is going to be good. Still have some TEs I think, Helm for 1. https://www.nfl.com/prospects/gunnar-helm/32004845-4c49-3059-9e89-11f76a704998

Two day-one starters at positions of need (wherever Big MClargeHuge plays on the line), an offensive weapon that will see a lot of snaps and is the PR/KR from the start of camp, and a project DB with a high ceiling. I like it so far. A burner RB would make me happy.

Also, as a Cowboys fan, please don't let Jerbear draft Sanders:zipit:

Noel is going to surprise you. Very few guys can run like he does and he's got a 40 in vert. Dudes really athletic and a high character guy.

So the Sanders kid still remains undrafted !
I love it mainly because the mock-draft community is all so P-Oed that their boy is still on the
Board. Like they know what the hell they are talking about !
Then there's big mouth Prime who says his his kid and the two-way guy should be 1 & 2 in this
Draft: well atleast he was half right.

I don't think it's the tape that's causing him to drop, I think it's his last name. This is a case where being a "nepo-kid" back fires. Teams feel the juice isn't worth the squeeze with the potential extra baggage (his father). I'm sure he'll go in the 4th, but the drop is HUGE.. He'll likely just be a backup now.
But he won’t stand for just being a backup. Neither will his father.

Sports Illustrated put it best……

“When considering the sheer magnitude of it all, it’s not hard to put oneself in the shoes of a general manager who is just one perilous decision away from being fired and imagining that person throwing up both hands, saying screw this. It’s not hard to look at the Sanders draft party, which was more heavily produced than Battlefield Earth, the pro day—excuse me, The Showcase, complete with VIP seating and a logo/slogan (WE AIN’T HARD 2 FIND)—the second logo (a modified dollar sign), the references to being “legendary” and the explosive reaction to any perceived slight, and seeing nothing but an endless migraine.”

Watching Rich Eisen clutch his pearls on the NFL network was priceless. Watching that crew ranting endlessly about Shedeur not getting drafted over players that did get drafted gives a taste of what a monumental distraction he will be.

The farther he falls, the bigger the “traveling circus” distraction will be.

Shedeur is going to have to change his logo:

Yea I'm a Rich Eisen regular and him and his crew are gonna be butt-hurt for a long, long time.
I like Rich but he never played a snap of football in his life, but he certainly considers himself an xpert.

How about that Executive Vice President of Player Personnel, Eliot Wolf, who has the final say on all players. Who says I cannot be positive?

How is it the Master Trader missed out on Atlanta as the Falcons skipped the Master Trader and gave the Rams at #26, one spot behind the Texans at #25, their #46 pick and a 2026 1st RD pick? One would think that Master Trader would have called these teams before draft to inform that #25 was available for their 2nd RD and a 2026 1st RD. How is it the Rams could get a 2026 1st RD pick at #26 and the Texans could not at #25?

Here’s the problem with your schtick, it’s all horrible decisions and hyperbole.

Not that simple.

Atlanta obviously wasn’t ready to trade up yet, wouldn’t they have wanted the same deal the giants got if they had been talking to Nick?

Don’t you think Nick would have taken their deal over the giants?

But you could have gotten better!

Lol

Only one problem, Texans have tunnel vision, they are only interested in the season at hand. This has been a chronic pattern of behavior since the Bill O'Brien days.
