Draft Rumors and Tidbits

I haven't heard anymore or read anymore, it could be one of those I heard from someone who heard from someone who heard from someone things...

Someone told me there was an "insider" on 610 earlier that said the Seahawks wanted to trade Alexander for our 13th pick and also the guy that told me said there was a snippet about it somewhere on foxsports.com, but I can't find it anywhere...

I am sure the Seahawks want to since no one has been willing to send them a 2nd. Of course the more important question is do the Texans want to.

IMO it would depend on 1. his cap hit and 2. who is sitting there when it is our turn to pick at 13 if we waited until draft day...but no one listen to me, between baseball, basketball, and the NFL draft my brain is FRIED

I just don't see the Texans trading with the Seahawks for Alexander and giving up their first round pick. They already lost their second and one of their third round picks. I would be happy if we gave them our 3rd, 4th, and 5th round picks though.

TITANS, CHARGERS POISED FOR MEGATRADE?

Before sending an e-mail telling us that we're a bunch of dumbarses, remember this:

We're just the messenger.

With that said, there's a rumor out there that the Titans and the Chargers could pull off a stunning draft day trade that would send quarterback Philip Rivers and a fourth-round pick to Tennessee in exchange for the No. 6 overall selection and quarterback Billy Volek.

But the Chargers repeatedly have said they won't be trading Rivers, especially in the wake of paying the back end of his two-tiered signing bonus last month. With that said, the Titans could easily absorb the cap hit, and they then could work out a long-term deal with starter Drew Brees, which would chop down his current cap number of $8 million plus.

And with Steve McNair ready to return for his eleventh NFL season, it doesn't make sense for the Titans to take on Rivers, who'd likely sit on the sidelines for yet another season.

Then again, Rivers is likely to have his butt glued to the bench in San Diego, and the chances of McNair getting injured are much greater than the likelihood of Brees getting busted to the point he can't play.

Attempted to confirm this, both sides say it is completely false

OK, that report isn't even internally consistant. The Chargers trade Rivers, but then the Titans easily absorb the cap hit (like they can afford a pack of Ho-Ho's at this point) of Brees. So who the heck are they getting in this rumor?

By the way a nun riding a flying pig was seen by an alien outside of Area 51 today.

Reported by---Elvis

I dunno about that. Elvis hasn't been as reliable as he used to be. I guess I'll have to take that report with a grain of salt.

Why would the Titans trade Volek? I think the guy is pretty good. Be alot better than going thru the rookie stuff which is what Rivers basically is.

Has anyone heard an update on the Shaun Alexander situation? I read the boards from earlier, but I haven't heard anything else.

You probably wont hear anything about a Alexander trade until the draft actually begins, but don't get your hopes up. Not saying that Alexander won't get dealt, but he won't be going for a 1st Round pick. More likely for him to go for a 2nd or maybe a 2nd and a later round pick. Something along those lines.

My post about Nick Saban was both to inform/answer a question about why he is always asking for the moon plus it was nice to just get it off my chest....so, why are the Texans talking about Alexander? I like him overall as a back but he just doesn't play every down like it could be his last....Unlike DD. We need LINEMEN(BOTH SIDES) and LINEBACKERS. Anyway, I hope that we take big boy from FSU...he needs footwork but that is with most college linemen.

GEAUX TEXANS!!!
