Obviously there's a good chance he won't play on this contract for the last projected year or two - those are numbers which, depending on his performance between now and then, make cutting or reworking at that stage viable.

It sort of confirms my belief that the long term plan involves sticking with more or less the offensive personnel we have for the next four or five years in the expectation that they'll be good for 8-12 in the league by any sensible measure, while upgrading the defense into the genuinely elite unit it needs to be to carry us into serious and consistent championship contention.
