You can't script a sport like football in real time but the referees can try to affect the outcome of games. Many times it works. There is no way for the players to be like actors playing starring roles in a play, movie or TV show. Even if the referees try to affect the outcome of the Chiefs and Bills game next week there is no guarantee that they will be able to. However they will try their best.

With our KC history & the officiating fiasco the last two games I think we’ve got a bonafide rivalry brewing.
