Division Scoring Stats

Alright, well I'm sitting here while bored in San Marcos, listening to the moron Spurs pre-game announcer since I can't watch the Rockets. So since I have nothing better to do, I put together some (probably meaningless) division stats that may or may not be interesting. (depending on if you're as bored as I am)

(4-3) Houston
Avg points scored: 22.5
Avg win by: 10
Avg opp. points: 20
Avg loss by: 8
Opponent record: (27-26)

(5-3) Jacksonville
Avg points scored: 16
Avg win by: 3
Avg opp. points: 18
Avg loss by: 11
Opponent record: (30-29)

(4-3) Indianapolis
Avg points scored: 31
Avg win by: 12
Avg opp. points: 27
Avg loss by: 5
Opponent record: (28-26)

(3-5) Tennessee
Avg points scored: 19
Avg win by: 13
Avg opp. points: 22
Avg loss by: 13
Opponent record: (30-30)

A few interesting things in there I guess. I'll let Vinny or one of the other guys make something of it (or throw it all out).

Well, two observations/hypotheses for indicators of successful play/consistancy:

1) Having higher average points scored than points given up--advantage Texans & Colts.

2) Winning by more on average than you lose by--advantage Texans & Colts.

The Texans have scored 158 points in 7 games. That's an average of 22.5 pts/game.
