That certainly explains his onslaught of injuries including hamstrings, knee and ankle injuries last year. He only played in 10 games last year and played with most of the others injured........the trade doesn't seem so bad now.
Lot of dudes resort to taking a something to come back faster from injury.

I just think that there is a LOT more to the DW-Hopkins show that will certainly change “some“ folks minds about our FO. say what you will about Cal but he has never been a gabber or low life. it won’t sit well with most around here but I think players…real football players…respect him more than anyone will admit. His quiet personality is a magnet for losers.

Hopkins with his $60 million guaranteed contract did the same "damage" to WR salary scale as Watson has done for QBs. Productivity in return has not been fruitful for the Cardinals. It would not surprise me that the Browns find themselves in even greater buyer's remorse before it's all over.

The six-game suspension to be served by Cardinals receiver DeAndre Hopkins will be a costly one.
Assuming his contract contains the strongest permissible forfeiture language under the labor deal, the suspension will expose Hopkins to the loss of six game checks. At a base rate of $6.65 million, he’ll lose 6/18ths of his salary for the season. That’s $2.21 million.
He’s also subject to a 6/18th forfeiture of his 2022 signing-bonus allocation of $5.5 million. That’s $1.83 million. And the conversion of a $10.65 million roster bonus due in March 2022 to a guaranteed payment means that he’ll lose 6/18ths of the 2022 allocation. That’s another $1.183 million.
(Hopkins also has a $2.25 million option-bonus allocation. However, because that money wasn’t paid this year, it’s not subject to forfeiture.)
That’s a total loss of $5.223 million. It also voids his guaranteed salary for 2022, allowing the Cardinals to cut him with no further financial obligation — if they so choose.
In all, it’s a costly suspension for Hopkins. And it makes the trade for Hollywood Brown even smarter for Arizona.

TBF a lot of that was Nuk supporting his "boy" Deshaun Watson who wanted trade after signing extension. He also had his bit with the ladies which some commented on. Some resentment could also be directed at dummies doing stupid - risking green backs for playing a game. I don't hate him or any player who leaves Texans but they are gone and not my guys so..
I'm going on record that I wanted him out of here way before he was traded. Although if I couldn't more in trade for him then I would've held onto him for a yr before trying to trade him again.

Maybe it is because I grew up in Cowboys fandom, but I don't understand wanting to get rid of the 2nd or 3rd best player in franchise history while he is in his prime. Sure, Michael Irvin got high and stabbed a teammate, but Irv' gotta Irv'.

Clowney and Mario both got stalker-like levels of attention from this board when they left. Hopkins to a lesser extent. Sports radio seemed to do so too.
Micheal Irvin was a leader. He partied hard and guys could party hard with him. however he was going to be practicing the next day and if you wanted to hang with him you had to practice the next day too and work just as hard as he did.
The Clemson trash has none of these qualities.

My biggest criticism of Mario was the stupid paint job he had for his new MTI speed boat. I yelled "sucky paint" and he waved and smiled. His buddy hustled him on the boat.
Also for those interested the Texas Outlaw Challenge is at end of June. My friend Paul Robinson owns the Challenge but does not enter his CAT. He's more into racing his Camaros in NHRA.

A lot will change with the NFL's new collective bargaining agreement, including a new drug policy in which players will no longer be suspended for positive marijuana tests.
The new CBA will reduce the testing period from four months to the two weeks at the start of training camp. A new threshold for a positive test will also be put in place, raising the allowed amount of THC from 35 nanograms to 150.
The league is moving away from a punishment approach and toward providing help for those that need it. If a player tests positive during the two week stretch of training camp, his test is reviewed by a board of medical professionals that has been appointed by both the players and league. The board then decides if the player needs treatment.
The old CBA's guidelines were much more strict. NFL players with no previous violations were tested once in the offseason. During the regular season, 10 players per team were randomly selected to be tested each week. A positive test meant a referral to the substance abuse program. A second violation resulted in a fine of two game checks, a third violation was a fine of four game checks, a fourth violation was a four-game suspension, a fifth violation was a 10-game suspension and a sixth violation resulted in a one-year ban.
Josh Gordon and Randy Gregory have both had severe suspensions due to multiple positive tests for marijuana in the last few years. In similar cases under the new CBA, the results will be much different.

When he was shipped outta here so abruptly, i always felt there was more to it than just teapot going off. People talk about Easterby being littlefinger from GoT …sneakily moving pieces into place behind the scenes for his own benefit, but after reading that SI article on Nuk, ive always thought Nuk was more of that type in orchestrating his way out of here…to me he’s always kinda given off that sneaky vibe. I used to follow dude on instagram..& the way he is/was percieved by fans has never quite lined up with what i used to see on his Instagram profile.

Whatever the case, he was a great player for the Texans playing with trash qb's until they drafted Watson. The Texans would've been even worse without him, especially the wr corps. He was a late 1st rd pick and was all pro. Trading him for smiling, sorry ass David Johnson was still a huge mistake especially since if other teams would've know, the team could've gotten at least a 1st rd pick.

My point was, no Cowboy fan cared what Irvin did, as long as he balled on the field. No Philly fan cared how many dogs Michael Vick drowned, as long as he was setting records. Texans fans had no problem getting rid of the second best player in franchise history (he was better than AJ IMO) because he didn't practice hard enough.
Funny that two of the franchise's top-5 players were Clemson trash though.

You make general blanket statements about players. There are tons of Clemson players in the nfl that never get in into any kind of trouble. Hopkins missed 2 games in Houston even with the injuries. Yet, a guy you always mention, Edelman, missed 4 games for ped usage trying to come back from injury. I guess Hunter Renfro is Clemson trash too? I'm surprised you wanted them to draft Ojabu because of his Nigerian origin and his parents being intellectuals
I'm sure some Clemson players are great guys. Reader comes to mind. Having one of them on your team isn't a bad thing. More than that and you're asking for trouble. Also I would never use a high pick on a Clemson player, they have a sense of entitlement when they're picked high. Yes, this is a general statement.
I'm not against picking guys like Okabo, just not with high picks. That way when they don't live up to expectations I won't be disappointed.
