Dead board all of the sudden

cptnbreakdance

Waterboy
we were going good and like the thread says "boom" nothing, so ill bring up a couple of random texans subjects........

Will we make the playoffs this year?

Will we have more than 1 pro bowler this year?

Can David throw more than 20 td and less than 14 int's?

Can DD run for 1500+ yds, and stay healty all season?

If Glenn Earl is healthy, can he be the playmaker @ Safety he was touted as coming out of South Bend?

Will the D as a whole play like it did toward the end of the season, and will the O play like it did at the beggining of the season?

There, that should do it for now, anybody have any opinions?

1. Im going to say no.. I think we will finish second in the division though.

2. Yes we will! AJ will return and Carr, Davis, Dunta or possibly Babin will make it as well. we could have two more probowlers.

3. Yes he can.. but will he? im gonna say he will be closer to a 17-19 TD range.. but only 7-10 interceptions.

4. I think DD will hit 1500 yards for once :).. but I think he will still miss a game or two.

5. I think Earl will have a rough year with Sharper and Foreman gone. He is gonna go through a trial by fire and will probably catch some flak from us on this board.. but he will be solid and will grow some next year.

6. I think the D will continue to play as well as it did after week 13 and before week 17. Our secondary only struggled at the beggining because of a lack of a quality SS and Dunta having rookie problems. next year we have Earl and Dunta ready to go.. we will be owning. And I think the speed in the LBs will greatly improve our pass rush.. also Babin has an offseason under his belt to work on his technique and will be turning some of those QB pressures into QB Sacks.

The O will be more consistent.. the line will provide better, if not superb protection. We will be better than last year.

Playoffs - as a possible wildcard, but leaning more on the side of close - but not in. Agree with 2nd in division though. We'll close the gap on Colts, Jags will play us close - possibly split, and the Titans will be swept agin with all their new players learning and rebuilding.

Probowler - AJ and DRob. Others? Only if they step it up - there's quite a few on the conference that would show em up.

Carr stats - only if we have some Oline. I'd like to see the happy feet disappear this year.

DD may be able to make the 1500... but he won't be in all games, due to some recently brought in competition. :hmmm:

Won't be the highlight year for Earl, but he'll make some progress.

The D will step up (especially with this the focus so far for the offseason). It'll be a slow start as they learn the style and each other, but should be rockin soon. Oline... let us pray for a resemblence of a pocket this year.

playoffs...i could see us getting in as a wildcard team as long as we continue to beat the jags

pro bowlers...andre i think should be in there again...if carr has a break out season i think he will have a chance...there is too many good runningbacks for DD to get in there...if d. rob has another year like last he should be able to get in...but that's about it

carr stats...i'm looking for 3600+yds 29tds and 10ints...that sounds like a good break out season

i think DD will sadly be injuried at some point this season but will somehow make another 1000+yd season

glenn earl...i think he'll make significant progress and will have around 2ints this season

depending on how we draft in april we could have a really good defense or we can have a defense similiar to last years

and i'll add one more just for grins...andre's stats...1500+yds and 13tds...(we begin to pass more in the redzone when DD gets hurt)

OT but we are running from 300-600 posts per day.

1. Yes...Texans make the playoffs. Unfortunately, it's a short lived, 1st-round & out. People like myself will say that was a success. Others will say FIRE DOM.

2. I fear for D-Rob avoiding the "Sophmore jinx"...however, if we do NOT trade Sharper...look for him to get the ProBowl nod. I'm also thinking that with an improved team/record, our players will receive more recognition...so let's look for Both AJ & DD to get the trip to Hawaii. And yes..DC will have a lot of fans saying he deserved it. Year 4 will be a HUGE jump for him.

3. Yes...and see #2.

4. Yes...and see #2.

5. Earl will start all season and look very good. Probowler in year 3.

6. D will look very much like the end of last year. Babin, Peek and the D-Line will continue to improve (especially since we should be starting the same front 3) and our DB's will continue to lock in together. This is why it's SO important to NOT fire your coaches as many of you suggest. Unless there is just NO SIGN OF LIFE (see Spurrier) then sticking to your guns is very advisable.

It just seems to have slowed down since the Pace ordeal is over.

If you think it is slow now wait until the 8-10 week period between May and the middle of July. There will be some mini-camp talk here and there and some action around the June 1 cuts (my favorite "we should pick up _____), but that late spring/early summer time is wasteland here.

this board does show signs of intelligence from time to time :heh:
i keed, i keed...but i definately agree with your setiment :thumbup

1. I also think we finish 2nd in the division and will contend for a playoff berth. If we get in we will most likely lose in the first round, but the season will be a big success if we finish better than 8-8.

2. Johnson and Robinson are the only players who will get Pro Bowl consideration. Maybe Carr if he has a breakout year.

3. Yes, I think Carr will end up with 20-25 TD's and 10-14 INT's.

4. Davis hasn't stayed healthy for an entire season since high school, if even then. Why should we think something will change? No, he won't get 1500 yards, but might rush for 1200 depending on if we draft a RB on the first day.

5. I think Earl will develop into a pretty good strong safety.

6. If the defense can stop the run, it will be even better than the first year defense.
The offense will be better than it ever has been.
