You wanna try him at FS, ok. He's smallish, but he has a good vertical and he's physical.

If you can watch some clips of him in man coverage...that's probably the weakest part of his game and as a nickel corner that needs to be his strongest.

I think Walter has earned his guaranttee $ and bonus is $1m +$3.5 m base '13 & '14.

Yeah, the Texans are free to cut Walter whenever they want next offseason, but I think his 1 million bonus is a roster bonus. Not sure when that is paid though, but they have time to make the decision before free agency starts. I think he will be required to restructure his deal again (went from 4.5 million to 3 this year) and they will move him to 2-3 million if he stays. If he's not willing to do that, then I think they have to cut him. 4.5 million could go a long way though. Some other WRs that will be free agents:

Danny Amendola
Julian Edelman
Wes Welker
Brian Hartline
Greg Jennings

Or maybe target a new NT like Henry Melton or Alan Branch. Either way, I'm sure that money could be put to better use.

Good thinking, I'd like to pick up a level two corner or safety as a vet backup. Not '13 draft but soon after we need to pick guys to eventually replace Manning and Joseph.

Everybody points to losing Winston/Brisel via free agency but how about Joel Dreesen in blocking scheme?

I think a WR like Patterson starting WR2 would be more beneficial than Eiffert who would not beat out OD imo, but if you are just looking at Red Zone, I agree. Personally, I'd rather run the ball in side 15 to be honest.

I didn't mock Eifert because he should be off the board when Texans select. I really like him as a player but he is more gifted & polished than Fleener who Three Amigos mocked to Texans in 1st round, pick #26 last year. Texans would have to trade up to get Tyler.

And if I was wanting the Texans to trade up I would target Manti Te'o. Swap 1'st this year plus 2nd & 1st next year as well, but I would do it.

I asked my brother about Cotton and he didn't have anything earth shattering to say. Said he was a good player...didn't really say anything about his character really...

But he did say that he thinks his catches were down some because he started dating the QB's ex GF...:spin:
